i got a bw2 red rubber 38 degree pasted with tearmender... and really liked the game for next couple of sessions ... on third session saw the tackiness down... so other than wiping with moist towel, i used some voc free spinmax on it.
being voc free i assumed that this will not affect the sponge or topsheet except the top layer. but the game was not quite the same.
it did beome very tacky ...but i thought may be the topsheet has expanded ... so i took it off the padle and repasted.
gues what it's now playing like a old hard tacky chinese rubber...
where did i go wrong? could it be because when i took it off, the tuning layer came off...?

I would say so...But if you are lucky, it's just because the rubber is too tacky that it makes you feel the speed is decreased.Your rubber isnt '' double tuned '' so I think it will lose the tuning effect soon or later.

I agree that if the topsheet is more tacky from using spinmax then the tack may kill the tuning feel in the sponge due to decreased speed.

nope it still pretty fast... but as by it lost the glue feel ... and as i said doesn't have the dwell time and control of tuned rubber.
how long did your tuning last ? i'm sure it can't be just 2 sessions. |
