It should be only the sponge that's different (so they would be the same in OX), as there is only one 388d-1 ittf approved. I have not tried it to confirm this though...

The quattro version has a different chemistry or formulation. More reversal. I think the regular version is a bit softer. To me there's no diff in sponge, becaue I get both in ox.

The Regular 388D-1 and 388D-1 Quattro are different. The sponge is differant & so is the mixture of the rubber compound. The Quattro version is the improved version, apparently giving more spin reversal.

and yeah, haggis, your logic is right. Legally it SHOULD be, but we all know that chinese companies flaunt their disregard to that rule pretty heavily.

WTW[arm place]! You were considering 388 quattro or regular but ended up with sprungfedeer??? Well, I can tell you this much, it will behave very different compared to any of the 388's you were asking about |

Yes the spin reversal on the sprungfeder is terrible!
I actually liked the original 388d-1, so I guess 'improvement' is in the eye of the beholder. That's not unusual for long pips though... what one person loves, another hates about the same rubber... |
