i like some donic clothes... such as the belgian national team training "oklahoma"...
i like some blades such as the dotec serie...
one of my top 10 rubbers is the donic vario soft...
in my collection i have old donic coppa of patrick baum (2 blacks and 1 red is coming) and last season rubbers of torben wosik red and black coppa jo platin)
coppa jo platin is ok but not the best rubber of the world...

I've been happy with Desto F3 Big Slam for a couple of years. Before that, I used Coppa Tagora. I also use a Dima SawTec. Generally satisfied with Donic. Their rubber is a little pricey, but their blades are relatively inexpensive and pretty good performers for production blades.

Donic makes excellent blades. I am not too keen of the weird handles on Dotec models though.

I really enjoyed playing Donic Coppa Gold. That rubbers matches well with lots of different blades. Donic T-shirt looks great as well.

I used to use a WSC with Jo Waldner on both sides, I've also used Quattro. Their blades are very well made, and are cheap too.

4* Dima speedster.
5* Baum carrera.

I have never played with any Donics before.
How is Waldner Carbo Senso v1, I heard it is the bomb! works well with coppa platin?
Blade is like $45 + rubbers= $125. Not a bad setup.
But I don't like the way the handle is hollow like that. And I also heard most Donic blades vibrate, is that right? Isn't it bad to feel the vibrations in your hand?
Thx

Donic Blades are well built. Fit and finish is first rate and the prices charged is just hard to beat. My only problem is the vibration I feel from the blade with those models I have used. It is not in a bad way but for me personally I am not a fan of blade vibrations, what I do like is a rubber with feeling. I like to feel the rubber not the blade. But that aside Donic blades are very good. However Donic rubbers I love with my favorite being Desto F3 Big Slam/Regular F3, Coppa Platin Soft, Coppa Speed (awesome rubber, but it takes time to break in) which I am now trying and really liking it so far. I can tell you right off the bat Coppa Speed is not for a hard blade.
I am a big fan of their rubbers!!!!!!

I've used Platin, and it's not bad. In terms of blade, I have a Carbo off-, which is no longer in production. However I feel that the quality of the blade is no where near Butterfly's blades. The top ply is hinoki, but it splintered a little on the first removal of rubber. I've never had this problem with any of my Butterfly blades.

I personally do prefer butterfly blades also. I do have a old schlager carbon that has splintered. A lot of EJ'ing over a number of years, quite an ugly looking blade now, but still plays great.

I've never experienced that splintering problem with Donic blades. I ALWAYS seal them with several coats of spray lacquer with light sanding between coats to get a very smooth sealed (almost furniture) finish. I also do that with EVERY blade unless it comes factory sealed. |

I feel that hinoki top ply blades or one ply hinoki blades should not need sealing. Sealing will change the characteristic feel of the hinoki wood. At most, a very, very thin layer.

I used to play w/ Donic Persson Powerplay Senso V2, Opticon RS n now Waldner Carbon Senso V1. I like 3rd n 1st blades the best, PPSV2 is 7 ply but 2 me it felt like a norm. 5 ply, very nice control, power is there when u need it. For ORS, thick balsa core n super lite n there4 not quite my cuppa still nice finish n quality blade w/beautiful long flared handle, powerful n also nice control 5 ply. I reserve my praise for WSC, nice 5 ply composite blade which makes me feel like i'm playing w/all wood quite powerful blade w/superb control IMHO. Vibration? what vibration? Not as noticable as some of those Stiga's WRB and that Donic Kitex I came across. Still, Donic's ST handles IMHO, again r not as comfy, gripper n thick as Stiga's ST.
But I must say that Donic's QA/QC on those blades I've seen so far is quite impressive.

For me Donic is simply the best German brand.
If ywe compare Donic with Andro, Tibhar, Joola, Gewo, Imperial we'll notice that: 1) 55% of Donic blades are made in Sweden. Tibhar blades, production is made mostly in Eastern Europe Andro blades are all made in chinese Sunflex and Joola blades are German made 2) Noone of the other German brands have classic rubbers as Coppa Tenero and Vario. 3) Donic has a new technology rubber, the Coppa Speed which is made in Japan 4) Waldner, Persson, Appelgreen have used Donic |

I have an ancient Dicon FL that is quite nice. I am just not sure what rubbers to use on that blade. It had Do on it which is not my style and some 755. I would love to put some proper Jap. or Euro. rubbers on it, any Donic fans out there can say which works on the Dicon?
I am personally a fan of Yasaka handles over Donic, but to be fair I only tried the Appelgren Allplay V2 and sold it almost immediately because I hated the handle and the WRB (v2). Now playing with Yasaka blades. Out of my small collection (YEO, the blade in my sig, a old Primorac OFF- (1994), and the Dicon that is pretty old too) I like the Primorac's handle the best. |

Like I said, I have too a Carbo OFF-. I sealed it with hairspray and I had no problem with splintering. After I change the rubbers a few times I reseal the blade with hairspray, it seems to work well with all the blades I have. For those interested this blade is made in China. |
