Topic: The best new generation rubber? Posted: 11/05/2009 at 11:31am |
So what do you guys think? I'm looking to buy some new rubbers pretty soon, and I want to try something new, but there is just too much out there right now.
Please vote for the rubber series you think is the best, and please specify which version you prefer. (If you choose Tenergy, then tell us if you prefer 05/25/64 etc.) Then tell us why you like this rubber so much. What are the pros and cons. A mini-review would be the best! I'm still struggling to find a rubber that comes close to glued up Mambo H. Grippy surface, medium hard sponge, good control in the short game, a lot of gears, pretty good durability. Great speed, great spin (both mechanical on hard loops and on the service/pushes from the surface of the rubber), great sound. I thought I found the perfect rubber, but then speed glue got banned, and I have to start searching again. The closest I have gotten is the Tenergy 64 I think. But it still lacks control in the short game, and of course that great click sound! Now I'm using Boost TC, and it's ok, but nothing special. Too soft for my liking, and lacks in both speed and spin. Doesn't "kick" like Mambo H and Tenergy does. Edit: Poll deleted and topic closed. Come on guys, you can do better than this.. (I hope) PS! I've made a new topic. You can find it here! |

If I had the cash I would get another sheet of Nimbus Soft. fast, more than enough spin and a great sound.

my MacroERA review 42.5 degree sponge I'm not saying it is the best, but to your post, I think the harder (47.5) Palio Macro ERA, by your described needs, fits them all. More economical than most of its competitors, very good durability (4months on the very short, overly particular side, possibly 8months or more depending on how often & how hard you train/play) & definitely kicks. It's spin is largely mechanical in nature but can brush & it has a click no doubt! Fine in the short game w/ "many gears". Others here have found it to be a very good rubber. http://ttarmory.com/palio-macro-era-p-30.html hope you find the appropriate rubber that serves you well |

For me, Tibhar Nianmor is the best rubber I had for years. Short game is good and it has many gears.

There's a lot of good coments about the new Mark V HPS in France right now.
They say it really play like an old Mark V speed glued while Mark V HPS soft is like old Mark V GPS glued. I vote for Nianmor. Very good rubber, just doesn't last long like Tenergy. |

Didn't see Gambler Outlaw in the list. Good value for money.

Tenergy 05. Took me a bit to get used to, but now I have so much fun with it. Not too hard to control, and it can be as fast as you want it to.

Well I've used Jo Platin, T05, Aircondle, and Hexer for my forehand and overall I'd have to say right now that Hexer was the best I've used but Aircondle was easier to use, Jo Platin I could never get the short game down, and Tenergy was too hard, high, heavy, and sensitive for me.

classic style rubbers
Bryce: obsolete, too stiff, too low dynamics. G3: obsolete, slow, not much different from classics as Mark V, Sriver, etc. china rubbers Outlaw: hyped, not really good, don't buy it. Tenergy like rubbers Tenergy: good, Tenergy 64 is easiest to play. Genius: similar to Tenergy 64, topsheet is thinner, higher throw, better to loop, worse to counter. Baracuda: as Genius. Boost like rubbers Stiga Boost: ball contact too short, don't buy it. Nianmor: think of a faster Boost, don't buy it. Tensor rubbers Desto: obsolete, too soon worn out, better go for Nimbus. Nimbus: still not bad, especially V.I.P. Sinus: didn't like it, but only played the normal Sinus, missed the touch. Roxon: 500 is quite good, faster then Nimbus. Joola Express One: quite good, think of a Nimbus with a much lower throw. |

I have the H3 Neo for my forehand and I like it very much, very good spin and control and more than enough speed. For more detail, check one of the many threads with reviews about the neo rubbers...

Someone has made the poll become a joke. He just kept voting for Hexer to compete with Tenergy. What a shame . Really a childish act.

From the looks of others, it would seem as though many of them have been tampered with. 19 for DHS neo? 12 for Tibhar? There probably arent that many users on the forum who use those. |

Tenergy 05 for me. This poll is screwed up since it allows multiple votes. Why allowing multiple?

NEO H3 is impressive. I just replaced my T05 for it.
Probably more people are using NEO than of Hexer

well that was silly...I didn't even get to see the actual final results of the poll...I voted hexer, but after reconsidering, I shouldn't have voted since I've only played with tenergy and hexer on that list

I made the poll because many people use different rubbers for fh and bh and would wanna vote for both. It didn't even accure to me that someone had enough free time, or was a big enough ......... to do something like this. I'll make a new one, without multiple votes.
