I am sure this has been talked about before but since this forum could quite possibly have the worst search function ever, I have to ask it again.

For all you past/present Nittaku Acoustic users (Holda, Peter79, JimT, Flash, others.....) do/did you seal your blades?

I know it comes from the factory with a sealant already, but do you put your own sealant on it in addition?  This blade is supposed to have a great feeling due to the "construction process" so will sealing this blade change this feeling/playing characteristics in an unfavorable manner?

In the past I have used a water-based Varathane polyurethane sealer.  Would you guys still recommend this for the Acoustic?

Thanks for any input

I did apply to the Tenor and Acoustic that I bought.I just used a sponge as an applicator and applied very small amount to just seal around the edges ans those natural grooves on playing surfaces. That was all I did. These two blades come with a bit different finish -the veneers are groovy more vs original playing surfaces of older Acoustics. So i say just fill those surface irregularities and the edges.
Be right back...
Please email to me if pm box is full.Later...

If you use rubber cement, I suggest you to seal the edge of the top ply. No need to seal the whole blade surface.
