I was just watching the WTTTC trials for the Chinese Team where i would watch the older players go up against the younger players.  I like the fact that the younger players are getting feedback from the veterans in both games and communication.  Sometimes I wonder if the older players are learning anything from the younger players.  I like the fact how Wang Liqin put up a fight against the young recently even if it means loosing in the end.  Players like Ma Lin and Wang Hao are just plain lame.  The younger players are used to Ma Lin's game and understand his weak point.  Wang Hao is even worse like he got LAZY or something.  Chen Qi is still stuck where he is. Do you guys feel that the younger generation plays a much different game of style? or is it just a fighting spirit of the youth?

Eh Ma Lin was doing decently until those net balls ruined his morale.  You have to understand that his game is based mainly on the 3rd ball and short game.  However, the other chinese players actually know his serves already and have the skill to consistently pin him to his backhand so it neutralizes his main strengths.  Can't say the same for the Europeans however.  Ma Lin's probably one of the hardest working members of the team so he's definately not lame.  It was said he wore down the soles of his brand new shoes in 3 days because he trained so hard.

Thats a true story. And on the 5:th day after doing the Falkenberg drill on the same spot for 18 hours in straight, they actually found him in the basement.

I will not say the young guys know the old guys' weak point; it is more like the young guys used to the old guys' game, and the penhold's RPB.

I watched that game between Ma Lin and chen Qui The way Ma Lin kept catching up with him every time he took a clear lead, and the ease with which he did it, I just think he was unlucky in that game .Ma lin (imo) is still a great player.
