Is the wttc in April? What if the ECL is falling on the same date?
26th of April the match Villette-Ochsenhausen will take place.
So, than Dima will probably cancel the ECL :(:(:(

no, it's starting later than usual this year. instead of the end of april, it's the end of may.
so, that'll give the german nat'l team members (boll, dima, suess) a little more time to complete their club schedules and recover before having to play the wttc. that, of course, will help them all, but mostly it'll benefit timo. cuz he hurt now and he's playing the german open this week and then next week he plays his ecl match and then the week after that he'll play his german league match (against fulda, waldner's team) and then the week after that, it's ecl again. it's like nonstop for him (and suess AND kishikawa--his teammates) for the next month... in my mind, that's what did him in last year. all his club matches came within a few weeks of the wttc. |

I don't like the team wttc anymore, we all know that china will win.
Maybe if they play with zhang and xu, Germany or South Korea can
make it a bit difficult, but that's all -_-

Yes we know China will win the teams. I do like watching the doubles matches because I enjoy watching the other teams get pounded in by any mutt pair China puts together |

There will be no doubles, it's not the Olympics. Playing format is still the best of 5 singles. |

I think that for men it was said they would have two trials and the rest will be determined by the training council.
For the girls - two or three trials in addition to Qatar-Kuwait winners of which would get an automatic place... but we can see that they didn't... |

@ JimT:
No, that was never said (except by you...). It was always 3 trials for the men, and the 2 remaining spots by coaches' picks. And for the women, a guaranteed spot for the player who would win both Qatar and Kuwait, which no one did. 5 players total per team in any case. The third men's tournament will be on April 1-2; same format as before, with Li Ping replacing Zhang Jike. |

I don't know, it looks more like an Avalox blade, different striping and much more red and gold in the circle on the handle. Either way though, he has changed his equipment often. |

A girl would have to win both Qatar and Kuwait to get a guaranteed place on the team? Wow... these guys do set some high goals there... |

Yes, It's very difficult, only Zhang Yining has done it. But If Both Qatar and Kuwait champions get guaranteed places on the team, Maybe somewhat too easy on the contrary, and , how to deal with Germany open's champion? also enter the name list? On the man side there are a real battle, as to Wowan side, It's just a show, we all know, they must be Guo yue, Guo yan, Liu shiwen , DingNing and Li Xiaoxia. |

did any one see the beginning where
LGL comments on wanghao play?
"if you carry on with this kind of spirit, determination
and attitude, you be OUT of this tt industry soon.."
Wanghao like crying soon
Wang: "i will reflect on self and work harder"
Maybe someone start a discussion on how to help
wanghao?

I think he needs to join Chen Qi in the potato-growing fields for a few weeks (or wherever Chen was photographed recently) and reflect on his good fortunes. If it weren't for his reflexes, speed and good luck he could have been a chicken-raising peasant somewhere in Inner Mongolia... perhaps that could be a proper motivation? who knows... |

Thank you for the uploads.
I really wanted to like the final, but watching it was almost a play by play diagram of what is wrong with our sport.
There were only a very few interesting points, with a seeming majority of points lost rather than won.
I believe it is caused by the following: 1) The overpowering nature of service
2) The overwhelming power of offense
It's amazing a game with such sublime depth can be reduced to core elements of deception and power.
Perhaps it is because offense is so dominant in this game (and particularly amongst the best chinese players), you frequently wind up seeing a lot of rushing and unforced errors.
All in all, you could show this video to non TT players and many TT players alike and they would be utterly unimpressed with the "evolution" of the sport to it's current state.
