Boron was used back in the 80's in conjunction with carbon in a lot of tennis rackets. The problem was it was really expensive.

Did you say golden fiber? Where is it? Where can I get a blade with that?! Hmmm?! I must have one! Does Butterfly make one?! Will it make me loop better? I bet I won't have to practice as much! Man... I really need one! Tell me where to find it!!! Wacko

Prediction:

Stiga will grind up the most expensive thing they can find and put it in milled micro channels and then charge $130 for a blade that plays like all wood.

Butterfly will laminate to carbon and come out with alternate versions of their most expensive and popular blades. People will argue about whether the Timo Boll TBS, ALC, ZLC or XLC is the best blade.

Andro will come up with pretty posters and slick promotional material to be displayed at clubs around the world. Meanwhile, the blades will be produced in China inexpensively and sold for prices comparable with blades produced in Japan.

Yasaka will do nothing.

That golden fibre blade will go well with Butterfly Used Tire rubber in 2.1mm.  The only rubber with steel cross bracing and air pressure valve.  The first rubber whose grip is measured in lateral Gs.

Want more speed?  Pump more air.   Gonna work great for the new 80mm balls required in 2011.

Being a long-time tennis player (with fuzzy yellow balls), the best tennis racquet material after 30 yrs is still graphite.  Vendors went through ceramic in the 80s, titanium in the 90s, and now the current gimmick is to mix it all up (graphite, tungsten, titanium).

I suspect everybody will go back to wood blades after their EJ'ing is done.  Hehe...
