I noticed, people say Ovtcharov plays with Ovtcharov Senso V1... This is not true, I examined one of the Videos from latest tournament and you can clearly see the blade on the side has two red stripes (which are not found on V1), so the handle is V1 which we can see but I am pretty sure blade is Clipper as it is one of the only trusted blades with RED STRIPES on the side...

Yan ans hairstyle makes him look like a super sayin from dbz. What does he use in his hair to keep it up during play?

Fan Zhendong has decided he doesn't want to hide his blade in Japan Open 2015. No more viscaria with Stiga handle.
He's back to Viscaria with viscaria handle. |

His contract with Stiga probably ended. If it was a Viscaria I don't think he would care too much about what the handle looks like, It's likely that he just doesn't have to keep the pretense up any more.

zoom in on the handle design and compare it to an infinity handle. infinity is white brown white brown. Viscaria starts with the dark color followed by white.

SURE. FZD is using a STIGA Infinity 'ONLY' handle. He is using a Viscaria. But Infinity handle.

Yeah, I was talking about the handle. I don't know what is underneath.
Also when I watched the semi-final and the doubles final, it was clearly his usual blade (Infinity handle). |

Some thoughts about FZD and viscaria/infinity:
I have tried both viscaria and infinity. both are very hard, but viscaria is stiff, infinity very flexible. viscaria produces loops with a very straight arc. Infinity, on the other hand, has very sharp arcs, because it is very flexible at high power. Viscaria is a lot faster also. The blades are very, very different from each other, as different as two blades can be. As a result, it is very easy to tell what someone is using, by just looking at their arc. Did you notice ZJK and Yan An play powerloops which are very flat and low over the net? Well, that is the viscaria arc. (Yes, the blade does dictate how you have to play.) Fan Zhendong, to the contrary, plays with big arcs. That is indeed his defining feature. It does not seem to me you can regularly play like that with the viscaria. You can do such shots from time to time, by brushing more, but not regularly as he does. It seems to me very unlikely he is using a Viscaria, and likely that he is using an Infinity. Why did someone first think it was a Viscaria ?

I'm pretty sure it's Butterfly JM ZLC (and T64 on both side ?). The handle of the ZLC and SZLC are practically the same, only the thin line on the handle are different in colors. SZLC : yellow , ZLC : white. I saw the white lines on his blade during his matches and also, it's indicated like this on the japanese Butterfly site :) which is really pretty accurate for their sponsored players. JM has a history of switching between ZLC and SZLC, sometimes even in the same tournament. When the plastic ball first appeared, he also mentioned on his blog that was unsure as to what his best setup was.

Yeah, I saw this video too before I answered about the ZLC but when I saw it I thought It was a ZLC (I see the lines white, a bit like the color of the blade's top ply). Remember the "what color is the dress ?" buzz Well, I can be wrong and I'm not really sure myself. |

But the video is actually showing the new design Mizutani Jun ZLC, not SZLC anymore. You can compare the lens. |
