Thanks folks for all of these great tips... my tennis (as in standard tennis) shoes are like BRICKS compared to much lighter TT shoes and i am finally considering investing in my tootsies like I did for a blade n' rubber...
I too have FLIPPERS for feet (I currently play in my NB 9 EEEE) and looks like I too will invest in Mizuno or the like... I appreciate you and this site for making my seach much easier. (Now i just have to find some paper and measure my foot and insure that the conversion to the BIZARRO japanese measuring system will work)... Grazie. |

The shoe is technically a 3E, but I think it first more like a US EE. Again, they fit more snugly because the toe area doesn't have a much volume as a New Balance shoe or even a Mizuno running shoe.

Nice! Do wide do they fit? I considered getting the Kaiserbergs at first but went with Wave Medal 2 instead. |

OK, so the Wave Kaiserburg 28cm (10US), 3E is here from Japan!
Cost me $105 ($30 of which was shipping), but arrived blazingly fast. Left on 2nd Feb from Japan, here on 5th! So far the 10US fits well, a bit snug initially, after an hour of wear, it fits well. My foot size (as measured on paper) is 27cm. Usually, I wear a 10.5 US size. With my New Balance CT653, I use a 10, 4E. The shoes are different from NB CT653 in that they don't have as much toe space as NB. I would recommend measuring your actual foot size on paper, take that in cms and add 1.5. That would be your Japanese size for the shoe.

I would say a 28 would be 10 USA. Also, you will most likely be replacing the stock sole bed because they compact pretty quick. I use a Dr. Scholl's Diabetic one because it is not too high in the heal area like most after market foot beds and dosn't take up too much room in the shoe. The one problem with some of the Mizuno shoes is that they may be wider ...but the actual volume is low. For instance, as you look down at your feet from above with these shoes on......the right to left width is wider than normal shoes (they will stretch some too). But the distance from the bottom of your foot to the top....especially in the forefoot area....is thin. I got the after market foot beds to fit good after 2 months of wearing them 2 times per week. Also, some of the Mizuno shoes like the Plio ones fit 1/2 shorter than the Wave Drives for example. |

That' s good to know - because other charts are not reliable, almost every manufacturer in every goshdarn country is using different charts, so correspondence of Mizuno sizes to US sizes is of the most interest, of course. So for me with my size 10 (4E) I would need to get Mizuno 3E shoe in 27, I guess... |

technically, 10.5US will be 27 cm, but the taiwanese guy recommends 1-1.5 cm more, so 28 or 28.5 would be ideal.

I am not sure how it is measured, but size 27.0cm is roughly US size 9. www.ping-pong.tw has a very helpful chart: http://www.ping-pong.tw/product_info.php?cPath=85_105&products_id=2505 I am sure there are other size conversion charts floating around on the net as well. |

OK! If that what they mean then it's what I need. Now - are their sizes same as regular American sizes? I mean 27.0 it's in centimeters, correct? About same as let's say 10.5 (inches) |

Thank you! But... The second link has this in the description Lightweight long-awaited widescreen model specifications (3E equivalent) is finally out. Feet wide according to the shape of the foot of the Japanese, size up the instep. what does it really mean? if I buy this will it automatically be 3E or is it an option? |

You said in the first post you were using 563 not 653 - perhaps a typo? |

Zephyrr,
I'm a freak compared to you. I'm a size 8 4E--- freaking hobbit feet! I've been wearing NB extra wide tennis shoes. The sole is pretty thick but forefoot lateral support is good. I don't think there is any other way. Good luck with your shoes. Edited by racquetsforsale - 01/31/2011 at 11:17am |
