Just want to know what thickness of tensor rubbers you use.
Does 0.2mm make a big difference?
FH or BH?
Thanks!  Smile

On most tensors, if you have a strong FH it's no problem using max but most people wont on the backhand. Just listen to the rubber for a guide, if you can't get a loud click from it looping then you aren't strong enough to use that size or hardness sponge. Very very few people have a good enough backhand to use max there

I use max all the time, but I can probably get away with it since I use slower all-wood blades.

When I'm ready, I can crank some hot shots though. Wink

It depends on your blade as well... a rock hard blade will bottom out easily with a thinner and soft tensor, but it might not bottom out as easily on a softer blade.

I never use rubbers thicker than 2.0m. I've tried max and I felt it made a big difference.
Maybe you won't notice 0.1-0.2mm but you definitively will notice 0.3-0.4mm difference.

Tensor rubbers are fast and springy. So to maintain some control 2.0 is fine for me especially on my backhand.

In a Tenergy 05 is most controlable in 1.9mm than 2.1mm?

Getting a tensor in anything but max is like buying a turbo charged economy car. It doesn't make much sense to me.

I respect your opinion but I disagree. Many players (me included) need a workhorse blade rather than a Ferrari, so a tensor in 2.0 or less is perfectly adequate.

+1

I recently went from max to 2.0mm on both wings and my game improved significantly.

For me, 2.0mm is more forgiving on "imperfect impacts" on the ball, as well as making it easier to block down higher rated players. Yet, there is still enough power to produce winning kill shots.

I tried 1.9 and it is not very good for looping only good for smashed.
So I went back to 2.1
They are very different.
1.9 is great for blocking spinny loops.
