To me, it would be a 10mm thick one-ply hinoki. Best power and control ratio. I recently played with a custom made 10mm WRC Jpen by American Hinoki and was simply shocked - I never thought a blade can literally play for you by itself...

Anyway, you should specify the points you're interested in, they can be very different for each player - speed, control, feel, throw angle, etc.

I would agree with the 10mm 1-ply hinoki statement. I've tried to bend various blades and those things are stiff!

Donic is 7 wood + 2 thin carbon layers while BTY has 5 wood + 2 thick and hard Tamca layers.

Both are really fast and stiff but I prefer Donic feel. Limba softer outer layers feels better compared to Koto used on BTY T5000, IMO.

Yeah I'm surprised no one mentioned the TBS until now, as it is pretty stiff with just a slight amount of flex for improved looping. That said, the T5000 is even stiffer and harder, and it's really thin too.

i havent used any of the blade that you mentioned but for me, primorac carbon and gergely, stiff and fast, relatively decent control for a pure carbon blade, and plays the same, i have used this 2 blades for a very long time

For stiff and soft, I think Viscaria, TBS, TB ALC are great blades.

I don't know much about stiff and hard blades.

Amultart is the best stiff blade I have ever played with. TBt5000 is pretty good too.

Can't stand Sardius or Gergely.

best stiff in what aspect?

off, all, def?

I would say the named blades are hard. Stiff and soft would be MM (as someone mentioned already), VL, maybe ZLC, which is not as soft anymore. But TBS, ALC and Visc are hard.

Viscaria IMHO is just as soft as MM, but faster.  Btfly agrees with me in their charts and tables.  The blades I mentioned are much softer than Primorac or Schlager carbon, or Gergeley and the like, or a Timo Boll T5000.

The best stiff and thin blade carbon is really hard to find.
Because thin blade will vibrate much.
Stiff blade is not good for hard rubber.

I wonder why you want a stiff carbon blade?

What do you want a stiff blade for?  Do you want it to loop but you hate vibrations, or do you want it to hit but you want some looping ability? And what kind of speed/weight do you expect?

If you want a blade for looping but can tolerate vibrations but not too much, it leads to one kind of answer (TBS, Stellan Bengsston Alpha etc.) or blades which are thin but use carbon/arylate to dampen vibrations a little.

You can go in a different direction if you want a stiff blade with hitting power but no vibrations whatsoever.  You could use the Schlager Carbon, the Killerspin Titanium Carbon etc.

And then there are the stiff wooden blades (1 ply hinoki, DHS PG7, thick balsa blades).  These are for people who prefer the feel of wood, but want hitting power.  The PG7 is also for looping, but the stiffness is obvious to anyone who uses it.

So the real question is what do you want the blade for?  For example, I like large sweetspots but prefer the feel of wood.  I want a looping blade at ALL+/OFF- control because I will generate the power myself and play closer to the table on most occasions.  Hence the blades I use.
I like putting heavy topspin on the ball...
Cybershape Carbon

Lumberjack TT, not for lovers of beautiful strokes. No time to train...
