Not sure if you guys saw this yet. I managed to find English translated news articles for mens and womens:

Zhang Jike, Wang Hao & Ma Long will be in the London Olympics

Anything is still possible for Li Xiaoxia, Guo Yan & Ding Nin

By the way read this

Pretty poor performance by ZJK... and entire OG team. Just goes to show that CNT could easily send two or three teams to London and they would all be quite able to take gold

yep, that is so true.

So CNT can beat China OG team easily, doesn't mean that Germany or Japan or Korea can beat China OG team right?

All  LGL's decisions seem all designed to mentally destabilize his Olympic team. Any non Chinese player now feels stronger after that team match within the CNT; anybody spanking Ma Lin (it happens more and more) feels like they can get a piece of ZJK anytime; also anybody with a winning record v. WL (it happens more and more) feels like they can get a piece of WH anytime.

i'm still hoping for some accident to happen to zhang jike or wang hao.

i want ma long to be in the singles entry, he has to be there, he deserves to be in there

I don't believe that the rules allow any more subs,
If Zhang or Wang is injured, then the injured player won't be part of the Olympic, and China can not enter into the teams event

I believe 3rd player can't replace player 1 or 2.
Nor can 3rd player be replaced.

AKA the debate we had on the forum where if Ding Ning is injured, or Guo Yue (half the womens team was injured etc), then China can't be in the teams event as no subs are allowed.

I couldn't find any facts on substitution - thus I agree, the rules are "in humane"

Last day of submitting participants to the OG is the 9 July. After that no additions or changes can be made, which is quite normal for any large scale event such OG or WC.

It's due to admin I suppose. And no, admin in this case is not just changing a name in a list. It affects much more than that. One example would be the commentator kits for each sport with participant details for broadcasters, another the multiple security systems in place which has to work no matter what, etc.

It's quite reasonable and understandable that there has to be a cut off point for entries and changes.

You know there is a rule and you looked for it, but couldn't find the actual one, so consequently your assumptions are true? Wink
