have hit on this SPD-2008 pimples while my recent shopping on Taobao. This rubber seems to be a bestseller product their, it is rated 3d most selled amongst the rubber section on the marketplace. The rubber's annotation says the pimps are extremely tall and flexible, 1mm diam, 1.9mm high and thus will generate ball wobbles in plenty. The pimples don't comply with ITTF current specifics and was only designed for club level play and to give defensive players a better enjoyment. Interesting rubber indeed. In my own view, it is somewhat a reincarnation of TIBHAR SuperGrass which was known to produce enormous wobbling effect. |

THe aspect ratio of the pips would ensure it would not be approved by the ITTF. |

1.3. Aspect ratio I.e. pimple height / pimple diameter, shall not be > 1.10. =========================================
This is what you said: "1mm diam, 1.9mm high". The Aspect Ratio will be 1.9, that's illegal.
This is what your link said: "颗粒直径1.2mm 高度2.1mm", means 1.2mm diam, 2.1mm high.

Has anybody wondered about what causes the wobble? My TBS+2xT05 can generate more types of spin than a LP ever could.

ITTF's specification is that the Aspect Ratio shall not be > 1.10.
(See my post above.)
1.9 > 1.10
1.75 > 1.10
So, either case is out of specification.
