Curious how does the Bubinga blade play? A small review please.
Very nice blades! Actually I found the write up on Ebay: This is a 5-ply bubinga wood blade made for offensive player. Bubinga is one of the best hard wood in table tennis industry, which is a little harder than the true rosewood I use in my blades. And, the speed is very fast, even a little faster than 5-ply rosewood blades in my store, while its playability is still great. Here the bubinga 5-ply wood blade is made of high end material to reach the peak performance of this quality combination. The surface of this blade is professionally finished as other blades in my store are, to give you clearer feeling like crystal. With it you could loop and drive and smash very well, especially the opening loop will be improved with more power. Comparing to other commercial 5-ply wood blade, bubinga 5-ply is stronger, so easier to score in the era of plastic ball. In short, this new hardwood 5-ply blade brings direct and clear contact between coming ball and your hand. the power in looping and driving is amazing! I would like to write a review on the inner ZLC type blade pictured above which was made for me.
I had actually been playing with another one of his blades for about six months which was a 5-ply rosewood blade. That blade was great but I wanted something with a softer feel and slightly faster. I've always liked the feel of ZLC blades and prefer blades with carbon around the core not underneath the outer ply. Hence the request for the inner ZLC. As soon as I started looping with this blade I knew it was what I wanted. The spin was obviously greater than that of the rosewood blade with the same rubber due to the fantastic dwell time. The ball seems to sit on the blade for a long time. It is quite fast but controllable. It may be slightly faster than the Butterfly Innerforce ZLC, which in my opinion, isn't as fast as most people seem to think it is. The blocking is great! Short game is good as the blade has good feel and is not too bouncy. The craftsmanship is great and straight handle is very comfortable. If you were considering an Innerforce ZLC but don't want to spend as much money I would definitely recommend this.... not to mention, you will never find a top sheet of limba that looks this good from a major table tennis manufacturer. The wood quality isn't even comparable.

Wow. Beautiful stuff. The extra detail on the handles makes these blades really attractive. I will definitely keep you in mind if I ever need a replacement blade. I would have to put grip wax on my hand just to avoid covering the handle with grip tape.

Players basically have three ideas about the plastic ball: 1. Keep the current blades with/without new rubbers specially designed for new ball. 2. Try softer blades for longer dwelling time to create enough spin and power as before with celluloid ball. 3.Try harder blades for clearer touch and better speed performance because they think new balls naturally make the contact between ball and paddle smoother or dull. That is why here are many choices from soft limba to medium koto and movingui to hard bubinga and ebony to meet different needs. |
