Anyone out there play with either of these new short pips from Victas? One person said the 102 was a strange rubber. Does that mean they were disturbing to their opponents? Hope someone can provide a brief review.

I hit briefly with both rubbers (Max sponge for both).

VO-101:
Very similar to Spectol 21 (topsheet and sponge).
Sponge:  Soft, springy and very fast sponge (faster than Spectol 21).
Topsheet: similar pips to Spectol (slightly longer) and more flexible. Top of pips is grippier than Spectol.

VO-102:
Topsheet is very similar to Stiga Clippa (same grip, less than 802-40).
Sponge feels harder and slower (vs VO101).
Easier to control for me as I play modern defense with SP on BH.

Quality wise is on par with TSP Spectol.

Sponge hardness on both these sheets is supposed to be 37.5deg, which is fairly soft.

I have both rubbers uncut in front of me right now.
VO-101 sponge is lighter and softer than VO-102.

how about the spin on serves, blocking spinny loops(knuckle ball) is v101 hard to handle?

VO-102 is a more grippy SP (like Clippa, 802, 802-40, etc..).

VO-101 is a traditional SP with thinner pips (cylindrical shaped... I thought they were Medium pips at first) much less sensitive to spin so easier to block spinny loops and occasional knuckle ball returns.

Keep in mind that I chop with SP and don't attack at the table but I found the sponge of VO-101 extremely bouncy and fast.

Both are really high quality rubbers.

You might be right, but I got my information from the victas website here, which lists both of them as 37.5deg - might be a mistake. I have a 102, but don't have a 101 to compare.

101 has lower throw than 102. I think 102 is faster than 101, but both are pretty fast. I can loop easily with 102 then smash when I have the chance. They are both good rubbers.

I want to know if 102 is another  pip  that plays like smooth that barely disturb the opponent, is 101 hard to handle in terms of opening loops?
