If you handle fast and flexy the Ross Leidy Rapscallion is fun to play with. Great for loops and flicks.

I have the tenor, acoustic and violin and found the tenor to have the most vibration and the slowest of these three blades contradicting the specification information .

The best 5-ply blade?

Just look for the current most expensive blade. When a company releases an even more expensive 5 ply, that becomes the best blade so you're going to have to do a lot of overtime to keep up with the industry...

I read before about the nittaku Runlox but never tried it; it's supposed to be close to the avalox p500?

The Samsonov Alpha old and new are great; sgs or not.

The Xiom Aria is a super fast 5-ply and I loved it; one of the fastest 5-ply all wood out there; and so cheap!

Many people hate the Nexy Spear and I liked it so much. close to the Xiom Aria actually; so fast!

The Nexy Color is probably one of the best 5-ply to do it all.

I never tried the XIOM FUGA but so I read so many good reviews about it. To be considered?

XIOM Fuga is a thin (5.5mm) flexible Koto/Spruce blade. I'd rate it as a fast allround blade. Slightly larger headsize 158x151, and a very comfortable blockish straight handle.

The best 5 ply wood blade is the $5 ones you can buy off taobao or maybe amazon....they make great gutter cleaning paddles and also aid when you need some quick child spanking devices.   LOL

I love these posts....."Whats the best "insert generic item here"  with no other important factors to ascertain a narrowed down possibility for an answer.
