Two more blades from my (formerly!) extensive collection of beautiful BBC
blades, custom made by blade magician Charlie Smith.
Ultima Speed One of my (formerly) primary blades. Playing with its lighter version nowadays. Speed approximately like Schlager Carbon (upper OFF, lower OFF+) but with much better control and touch in short game. Used but in great condition, with thick edge tape. Sealed. Price: $100 SH/FL, 90 g. http://mytabletennis.net/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=50710 Tachyon+ It is still one of my primary blades but I decided to stick with two slightly slower Tachyons. Used but in nearly pristine condition, with thick edge tape. Sealed. I haven't had time to write a review on it yet - too busy playing with it  . Basically it is younger brother of Ultima Speed but with central layer replaced by lighter Bahogany wood (instead of WRC) and thinner by 0.75 mm. That makes it almost 10 g lighter, more manageable and not as fast as Ultima Speed. It is proper middle range OFF blade, with great control, amazing touch in short game (outers are rather thick cypress, after all), plays great with any Euro-Jap rubbers, tensors, Tenergies etc. Named Tachyon after a non-existent faster-than-light zero-weight particle because it is also "very light" and virtually non-existent (this particular blade is the only Tachyon+ in exiistence). Thickness: 6.9-7.00 mm Weight: 81 g Construction: 1.5 mm cypress - carbon - 3.5 mm Bahogany - carbon - 1.5 mm cypress Photos here. For those who'd prefer an OFF- version a Tachyon- (minus) can be added to the list (7-12-7 construction); 80 g weight. It's a lower range of OFF, upper OFF-. Very nice blade with great control, touch and balance but I think I will buy a BBC Blaster instead.

Well, 100 dollars is only a couple of shifts at McDonalds or a couple of lawn mowings! Get your butt off the couch, and go make some money! ... so you can buy my blades of course.  |

Seeing as how Charlie has (hopefully temporarily) suspended his blade-making, now could be one of the rare opportunities to buy one of his super-rare (but very nice) BBC blades. They are still available, although now I am not so sure I want to part with them... perhaps they will become super-expensive rarities soon... who knows? Look what happened with Hock blades.

) but in any case I decided to offer a small discount as an encouragement.Will ship free of charge to anywhere if the USPS fee is less than 10 dollars. Or if you live somewhere far far away, I can simply add postal fee to 90 USD. If you want both blades, I will drop the S&H fee if USPS fee for a small box weighing about 1 lbs to your location is no more than 22 USD (which covers almost every "reasonable" place on Earth, if we are talking about regular first-class delivery without tracking... which is alas quite expensive for any international delivery from the USA). |
