    Posted: 06/03/2014 at 8:12pm
QuestionHi all: Would anyone care to comment on what type of blade (Hard or Soft) is better or suitable for BH for LP with sponge (1 mm).  I use inverted for FH smashes and  either chop or push from BH.  Many thanks

I would recommend a Balsa core blade (OFF-) with 8mm thickness.

well, that is same as FUKUHARA Ai setup? I guess you can try her blade..
Usually
LP player play with soft blade to gain more control, one of my friend use TB ZLF for LP with sponge. But if you like FH smashes you should get something harder, innerforce should work. if you like stiga, clipper CR or CC are OK to try.
Just my opinion, is hard to tell until you try...
Innerforce-ZLC FL + H3 + T80

It depends if you chop/ push close to table. Re impact blades are great, but if you back up then u need a blade with some power. Mat pro special is great along with butterfly defense 3 or Joo blade.

I would stay away from carbon and too fast woods. I have had a def-setup for years and years and best LP blade for me has been Stiga optimum+ and my current def blade Stiga allround wood. Clipper Cr is way too fast for lp. Balsa blades are usually quite good with lp as well.

Cheers,
Tommi

It's 2014 and you're not using Tenergy 05 MAX on an Amultart?
Blade - Xiom 36.5 ALX FL
Forehand - Xiom Omega V Asia 2.0mm
Backhand - Victas Curl P5V with Der Materialspezialist Firestorm Soft/Outkill 1.8mm sponge

I use a fast blade to maximize FH speed with a slow LP on BH to offset blade speed.

Monophonic is great blade, and good speed. I am not sure if they still make it though ?

The monophonic is not carbon but fiberglass.

The simple answer is that there is NO best blade. But if you're chopping, balsa is one of your worst choices. Anything OFF + would not be wise either, unless you want to hit all the time.

You should also state whether you like fast or slow blades... regular size head or oversize head.

@cheondo
I like to use a regular size head (Like Timo Boll Spirit).  I need to have one side  fast for my FH smashes with Tenergy 64.  I don't mind using slower side for LP.  Also, I like to attack with my LP against my opponents I am able to beat.  I try not to attack a lot with LP against opponents better than me or having higher rating than me.  My rating approx.  1800 in USA.

If you have the money, the Innerforce ALC would be good. Sounds like you need an ALL+ OFF - blade. Otherwise, the Yinhe W-6, really cheap and good.

I really like the Joola Medium Flame -- it's got a hard outer ply, great for lps, and it's an all around blade, but it's definitely fast enough, esp. with Tenergy. I use this as well as the Joo SH.

Good luck with whatever you choose.
