Due to a nasty wrist injury (tendon and ligament damage) and 4 week lay off we had to delay the Summer Vid for a couple of weeks. He has now been back playing again for 2 weeks, so here it is.

This worked for me:

Fred 39

Who was injured you or Fred?
Anyway looking good as usual

What I did:-
Went to Fred37 and verified it still worked. Then replaced command prompt with code from Fred39. Then used the result to create the link in this post which works for me in Ireland

Fred was injured. He was hit on the hand by a football. His wrist was bent right back and initially thought to be broken.

Nice training as always :)

Can I ask, how often do you mix up training? For example, blocks, chops, starting off play away from the table and gradually moving in for the short kill shot.

Anyway again, I always watching your videos.

He does quite a variety of training really. We just don't show much of it in vids. He doesn't tend to do much chopping, but he is pretty good at playing chop and blocking too.

that was such a freak serve return with a bh over the table (banana) at 2min22sec;  it was funny how he looked behind the point after; I guess you gave him a gentle "HEY-FOCUS!" stink-eye for him to smile about it.
You 2 have great backhand strokes away from the table; the forearm and wrist snap are acting so well together in a perfect timing; that I bet he got from you; it's a nice gift you gave him.

You can tell that he has done some serious multiball there (unless he has done like zillion times FH/BH topspin against block or underspin, but again im 99% sure that he has done good multiball this year) .

More explosive and fluent strokes BH and FH and much better feeling for spin compared to one year ago

Congrats!

Hello!
Take a look on the footwork and keep the hard working!
I am always happy to see video of small player who is training with enthusiasm.
Good luck and many good results after time! Thumbs Up

He is starting to use his arm and wrist proportionally more than his torso for his shots.
Footwork looks natural especially his cross stepping.

Does he use the same grip for FH and BH?
Does he grip switch?
If only one grip is it neutral, or biased towards either the FH or BH?
Do you and/or his coach do any kind of stroke correction or is it self guided?
Does he watch pro TT and if so who does he watch?
What top player, if any, does he look up to or want to emulate?
What player do you perceive him playing like if any?
Does he have a coach other than you?
What type of multiball drills do you do?
What on table drills?
Are there other Jr's at your club?
How good are the top players at your club?

Sorry for all the questions just curious about what elements are influencing his development.

WOWAWEEWAA! He has gotten really good. Such a solid loop technique.
Were there any specific exercises he done to really get his FH spin up and loop that consistent? or just came naturally from a lot of practice?

p.s. GREAT lookback at 2.27 lol

Sorry. Missed the replies at the time. In answer to the above:-
I think he has mostly a BH grip which explains the 'Hooky FH' and I don't think it changes much for shots on either side.
He doesn't watch any pro players. I don't watch pro players either so couldn't tell you who I want him to play like either.
He has done no multiball for the last 6 months+.
I have been his only real coach and training partner for the last few months since the regional base was moved 80 miles away (and what's more he is improving more because of it). I design all of his drills which are currently aimed at improving his footwork (both regular and irregular). There are no top juniors at the club, but there are players around the top 100 in England who play there. It I could be bothered and could afford the ridiculous prices over here to play tournaments I would probably manage to scrape into the top 200 or 250 myself (but not playing in the lazy way I play in the vids).

He is loads better now BTW as he is fully recovered from his injuries and very keen to put some of the 'chosen few' in their places.
