Do you know any chinese penhold blade as same as Viscaria. I love the feeling of Viscaria but I can't find any chinese penhold version of that blade

My coach uses a Cpen Timo Boll ALC, it's very similar to the Viscaria, maybe a little harder.

$187 for Innerforce ZLC, you may do a little bit research
to compare with TB ALC: http://www.ttex.se/butterfly-blade-innerforce-p-2121.html |

FWIW, the original Taksim looked a bit like a Viscaria, but its construction was much closer to the Iolite (inner core was much thicker than Viscaria). The modern C-Pen TB-ALC would be much closer to Viscaria. I am not a penhold player but one of my practice partners and the chief coach here used to play with Taksim so I was able to see their blades close at hand and compare to my blade. I think the Taksim X is something of a reissue, and I don't know how it is built.

Old generation Taksims are thinner. Modern Taksims are too thick.

You can look into YinHe blades for affordability. I think the T7 is an "ALC" blade, more of an ALC clone. Another good cpen blade is Yasaka Ma Lin Carbon, seen a few good reviews here on it. Yasaka also makes really high quality cpen all wood blades. From what I've seen a lot of cpen players prefer all wood over composite.
Taksim would be the way to go but its hard to find one these days. Butterfly Chinese AL is an arylate blade, no carbon. Innerforce ZLC is popular between penholders but its sooo expensive. Edited by DreiZ - 10/22/2014 at 11:52pm |
