The new ones (silver logo) play a bit on the fast side compared to the older ones (black & gold logo). I really liked my old Cutlass and tried hard to get a duplicate.  I don't want to rely on just one blade.  When I couldn't get a decent match, I gave up on the Cutlass.  The newer ones play faster than I like.  I play hardbat and was working on chopping at the time.  I think I sold one (essentially new) on ebay and still have my older one and a more modern version.

I think this is a good candidate blade for chopping, but it all depends on your personal preferences.  I prefer a very slow blade.  I currently use a Nittaku Resist.  I've come to realize that I tend to prefer blades with a Willow outer ply.
