Seems like a very lacklustre design...

Compared to the Apolonia blade, I agree. But it is what it is. I'm sure Marcos is happy with his own blade from BTY. |

I wonder how this compares to Kenta's ALC and Viscaria?

Isn't the new Kenta ALC koto? And Viscaria is also koto so I'm assuming this will be a bit slower because of limba outer. |

these blade should be really close to the m maze... maybe he will only put handles on his two m maze?

It's just a marketing gimmick... M.Maze clone!

The M.Maze has been discontinued. Its no surprise that they are bringing it back as the Marco Freitas ALC. Same blade different handle.
It makes since, because the M.Maze was/is a very popular blade. It would be a bad company decision to stop selling it altogether. Re-marketing it for a new player will breath some life back into it. Now all they need is Freitas to make a big run at the next world championships and take down a couple players like Hao Shuai and Wang Hao!

I really like the looks of the simple black handle. More companies should be making these designs.
Reminds me of a Kokutaku 1-ply Hinoki blade from back in the day.... I wanted that blade BADLY! |

IF ALC was the only limba blade that i've used that didn't have vibration. But was TOO SLOW. If this is a FAST limba ALC i may get one. Butterfly is easy to resell on this forum.

This Freitas one is not fast as well. Don't buy it. You should try a 94g DHS Hurricane Long V (basically Ma Long & Fang Bo's blades) - a limba-based ALC blade. That should be fast enough for you.

Made in Japan. Go see the catalog. Doesnt matter where its made. The quality of wood is dependent on its supplier.
