I heard that a player had decided to drop out of a tournament event after seeing the list of entries, and was able to get his entry fee back for that event. He had mentioned that he was injured but yet still played in other events. Perhaps this is due to the fact that he is not confident that he can win.
I don't think this is appropriate behaviour because if this is ok, then everybody would do the same thing. If the entries for an event looks too strong, then drop out. I had talked to many people and they all agree with me. I just thought I'd bring this up and see what people think.

If what you say is true, then it's possible that the player, knowing how demanding the "OPEN" is, may have decided that given his injury, that it is better to withdraw from such a difficult event, rather than flounder in it. He probably thought that the other categories would be relatively easier to play, even while injured, so he contunied to play in them. Nothing really earth shattering here. |
