Do you think the era of 7 ply all wood blades has еnded? Only few pros nowadays use such a blade, everybody uses composite blades.

I have a hard and stiff BBC 5ply Cpen that is in the same speed region as my Nittaku Wolfeed. I am guessing a hard and stiff 7 ply should be even faster. I could dig out my Yoshida Kaii and check. I have not used it for years and there is no rubber on it. It is a hard and stiff blade and could be faster. But then again, it might not be. Will see.

People still like clippers but it seems that most Europeans prefer koto alc and Chinese rubber users koto alc, limba innerforce alc (like hl5, even Korean team use this now) and very few hardwood 5 ply

5 ply composite? You mean 5+2 which has always been and will always be the norm with exception to 3+2 hinoki carbon which has now died...

Yes sir.

So it's 7 plies IF you include the carbon layers, but it's 5+2 meaning 5 wood and 2 carbon. All blades are like this except garaydia and some hinoki blades

They probably are great, I think the OP is just referring to professional play but of course 7 ply blades are still great

For short pips players 7-ply blades are still the best choice.

Yep, I used to have Butterfly Challenger on my Yoshida Kaii back in the day. I still have a sheet or two of that that I can slap on it. Maybe I will! Thanks for giving me this idea hehe.

Yes times are a changing.
I believe that's it's due to a couple of reasons.
1 Pros of today use far more blades than say pros from the 80's/90's. Some have said that this due to the water based glue taking away much of the blade feel over time.
2 Players with great touch and feel for the ball have said that it is difficult to get 2 wood blades that feel and play the same. Butterfly, in particular, seem to have cracked the consistency between their blades. So two Viscarias of the same weight play much the same compared to two Clippers.
So it is said.

Who cares about what pros are using?? We tend to mislead from what they using with what we need to use. We all know that any Off- blade is still above the possibilities of 95% of forum members. We, as a amateur players lack the consistency they have, so the only way to improve is to be able to land one more ball on the table as before.

In my Country Cantero plays any fast allwood 7 ply, Duran SK7, Robles another allwood as well and Machado still keeps the Same Primorac Carbón as before plastic and even glue ban.

Don't act as if you are new to the forum.
You are not saying anything new. I say again, you are not saying anything new.
On this forum, your sentiment has been expressed by professional coaches as well as other posters for as long as this forum has existed. Contributors on here are not fools and they know their stuff.
This thread is about equipment and the fun of exploring all the nuances around equipment.
There's no need to act all superior. We know it already. It has been repeated many many many many times.
Move on if you don't anything to contribute

I struggled to control the clipper with the celluloid ball; too many unforced errors on active strokes, and too many misplays blocking against big spins.

But both clipper and ludeack seem a lot easier to use with ABS balls like the Nittaku Premiums; the ball seems to tame them.
