I'm thinking about giving the H3 National version a try, after I learn how to boost first.  From all of the CNT cpen holders that I've seen, they all seem to use OFF- blades, such as YEO, Hurricane Hao, and Xu Xin's Intensity.  Would an OFF- blades be good with a tuned/boosted H3, or would an OFF+ blades such as my Nittaku Barwell Fleet or a Stiga Rosewood NCT 7 more compatible with H3?

I'm currently using Barwell Fleet with Tenergy 05 on the forehand, and play as a mid-distance two-winged looper.

My concern is with a 5-ply/OFF- blade, my forehand loop may not be able to reach over the net compared to playing with my 5-ply/OFF+ since H3 tends to be less springy compared to Tenergy 05.  Also, as I would also want to improve on the short-game, an OFF- blade with H3 tends to be good for chops... Hence my dilemma...

Any suggestions or recommendations are appreciated, thank you!

Are you only into the all wood?
With the 40+ ball, I feel the 5 ply wood will be too slow in close range. 7 might be better.
The good old Stiga Clipper will do a fine job for you.
If you are open for other composition, like ALC or ZLC. personally I like ALC better. The blades I have used are Sword blue feather, Butterfly viscaria. I have also put H3 on the inner force zlc, I don't quite like it because I don't have enough power to hit through the damn thing. I feel those butterfly ZLC are more suitable for the T5 rubber.
Hope you find the right one for you.
Also a lot of Chinese blade can pair with H3 just fine due to the hardness of those blades. H3 is quite tacky to offset those hard feeling.
Viscaria DHS P H3, Tenergy 80
Blue Feather DHS P H3 Tenergy 80

do you brush loop as well as  heavily engage the sponge?  Never tried H3 with BWF (one of my favorite blades) but if you don't have the other blades that you mentioned currently why don't you just try the BWF first.  I am sure it won't be too fast but whether you like how it interacts with the H3 is another matter.   I like the H3 with HL5 and similar such as FB carbon and I suppose the NH301

What you want for H3 is a hard outer ply and a blade that is thin and has catapult effect. Viscaria works nicely because it is thin and has a koto outer ply for example.

7 Ply all-wood with koto outer is best for non-pro players. PG9 or TB W7 comes to mind.
H3's high throw pairs well with the lower throw of 7ply blades.

I agree that the koto alc blades are also very good for pairing, but they have less feeling and you need really sound strokes as you need to work harder to get same amount of spin.

So definetly 7ply, outer alc/zlc or not depends on your level.
