well needless to say, i can't wait !!!...

but does anybody else out there use this blade?

I'm not sure you'll like it. It's slow for a carbon-arylate blade, it's pretty much ALL or ALL+. It doesn't loop very fast either. It's really better for defenders or combination style play. There's a lot of vibrations for this arylate.

I have it Flared, so I don't know about the ST handle.

Again, why is everyone buying the equipment, THEN asking for reviews? You got it backwards!

because all of the pongers here should be like a close knit family...!!!! LOL

anyways, i was hoping for a 0ff- to All+ feeling because most carbons i have hit with are good for hitting but bad for blocking..

and the way i like to take big swings i want a little dwell time... more arc than drive.

so for the 32 bucks.. this isn't such a bad offering from the TT market..

anyways.. i will write up a full review.. currently i have a juic offence light II and i sort of like it but wish it was just a notch faster.. so hopefully this is the solution...

and why i ask first and bought later, is to get a reletive reference on what people think is fast or slow..

that way, i can gauge the standard lingo, here on this board..

thanks man..

I think it will be terrible because you ordered it from tom instead of me. The ones he sells direct are horrible. The ones he sells to me and then I sell play 10X better.

In all seriousness, the blade should play well for what you've described.
Wavestone St with Illumina 1.9r, defender1.7b

Please let me know if I can be of assistance.

AHHH AHHH AHHA>> good one..

i tell you what.. after i glued one up tonight it felt very nice..

not to fast. .but i was playing a nother loooper that likes to hit.. so there was some fine pushes we didn't do.. but only one night is not fair to make judgements..

so far i am going to keep it.. give it 2 weeks..

as for buying it from tom.. well i didn't know you yet... cole...

so maybe on the next blade..i will look your way.. but i have to say.. i have enjoyed talking to tom.. and he has provided great service.. so i can't say.. i have been disappointed by tom..

the market is very tight..and his shipping is only 5 bucks..

well.... oh.. i have one more thing.. the blade is about 10 grams too heavy for me.. i am going to have to sand it down just a little off the top.. just to lighting it just a bit.. i know that it is going to make it just a little bit faster but it is ok..

the blade is not a speed demon.. nor is to slow.. just about right for a hard swingind person..

phamster..

I have a flared handle version and it's a decent blade that's easy to control and versatile. It is good for a variety of playing styles depepnding on what rubbers you use. I found it pairs well with 2.2mm Gambler Six shooter and Aces.

Personally I prefer the Galaxy K4 carbokev to the Gambler Arylate Carbon, because it is a faster blade and more suited to my game.

Sanding down the Gambler straight handle is a good idea because :

1) a better balance to the blade with the reduced weight
2) a slightly slimmer handle will also help make it is easier to do wristy shots

here is an update to my gambler arylate carbon...

i used it in the INDIANA STATE Chamipionships..

had a good run, but lost to the 2006 state champion.. AJ BREWER..
he killed me 3 striaght..   10-12, 11-6, 9-11... looked close but the youngster (14 years old) still killed me..

anyways.. i have many blades.. yasaka, juic, and LKT, etc... but so far i have played with this gambler arylate for the longest.. and it allowes me to swing hard off both sides...

i have had to switch away from the six shooter rubber because i just need the better control from the classic japanese rubbers.  it seemed th six shooter was just too soft for my likings..

my current set up is torpedo glued  for my FH and speedy spin preium on the BH..

Are you still using the Gambler Arylate Carbon?

OH yes.. i love this Gambler blade..  BUT i had to make some basic tuning before i fell in love with this blade...

it came some what still to fast for my likings, i swing too hard, so i need just a tad more flex...

and it was just a hair heavy for me too...it weighed out 87 grams on my calibrated scale.. i work in a quality control dept, so i have access to a high level scale.. and we put a cover over it to keep the air movement from changing the readings of the grams.. down to the one hundreths..

but the blade oem came 87 grams..

so here is what i have done..

made it more flexible.. by shaving the throat down a little bit.. also that allowed me to hold it higher on the blade handle and more comfort too..

and i had tom from zero pong drill out the handle to make it 4-6 grams lighter for over all weight improvement..

tom will do it if you ask him kindly..

plus the weight on the top not changed and the flexible throat, gave this blade a little more kick..

i have used the EEII expander on my rubbers , check out the results..

look at the dome on this sheet of speedy spin premium !!!

so after all of that.. i am loving this blade..

i can hit it hard and still have the loop drop on the table... for a carbon blade... this isn't fast.. but the sweet spot on this blade is much bigger than a non carbon blade..

so i guess it equates to a between all around and off -  blade with a great huge sweet spot !!!

btw the weight of the blade wouldn't be so much if i didn't order a straight handle... the flare is much smaller and the weight is like 7-9 grams lighter.. but i like the huge straight handle..

oh check out the racket clamp i made too... LOL.. no flames please.. super heavy duty clamp.. total cost under 10 bucks.. LOL..
