hey guys, i see primorac sometimes standing on his fh side [right sode] when doin a bh serve, and sometimes on his bh side as well.

dima seems to be in the middle and so on.

can u guys tell me wat kind of strategical advantage ull get from this? or why do they take up different positions,

if so, any tips on varying the bh serve?

im asking this cause my main serve is the bh service, rarely do i do the fh pendulum, and maybe the tomahawk and reverse tomahawk.

Hi theman
They are trying to pressure opponent into playing a certain kind of return by giving themselves a different area to serve to.
So normally you see fh pendulum from bh corner, waiting where return may be pulled back to.
And Bh serve (opposite sidespin to fh pendulum) being served from fh side of centre line.
A lot of dummy strokes and changes of direction go with these kind of tactics.
Lets say you know yr opponent wants to avoid yr bh. So by doing the bh serve from the fh side his shots to yr fh have a smaller target, and you may tempt him into going wide on yr bh even though yr prepared for it.
The other reason for the bh serve is to keep things tight.
I do bh chop serve from right of centre to short on rh fh, so that i can force my opponent into a pushing rally, from which I hope to pick my hits. The bh serve is my tightest and guarantees he wont be driving anything.
So I suppose you just need to devise some tactical ideas of your own for serving. One tip: always have the opposite serve ready to unload if it feels right. So in the above situation doing a short heavy chopserve, if I thought my opponent was unprepared, from the same action i might do a surprise float serve, or a surprise fast flat serve

Doing BH serve short frm center to center prevents opponent from finding angles. Also enables you to vary third ball attack either with FH or BH. Dedicated to very good BH players. Almost same motion can under or side spin the ball. Not to be repeated too often cause once opponent finds the clue, you find yourself in very weak position.

thx for the advice guys, i think ill implement the ideas tonight.
btw i have a very good bh, compared to my fh.

when ppl push with their bh against a chopper, i would normally loop it, or loop drive if its light spin or if he chops on his inverted.

I usually stand in the middle, and sometimes from the bh corner. The rule of thumb here is: the stronger your backhand the more towards the forehand side you can serve.
Dima's serves are good but very ugly.

But why do the backhand serve when leaning towards the table?
