when matches progress into 4th and 5th game... i feel my face getting hot and my heart beating faster.. and that's when i do a lot of mistakes!

is it a normal thing that happens to others also? if so.. how do you go back to being cool? ingame... any specific mental exercises?

is it fear?

Remember.  Very important.  You may tend to rush when in a game. You have ten seconds in between points, use that time to sit still.  Think.  Strategize.  I find it helpful to look over at my friends or whoever I know in the audience.  That help calm you down.

Think of what your going to have for dinner that night.

do a mini jog in between points, bounce the ball, take a deep breath in and out, think about a strategy you want to follow and do it and if you focus on it, then you won't be so nervous.

Always appear more confident than you maybe are actually feeling . . . .this usually places doubt in your opponents mind, and will have the desired effect in raising your confidence, and thus the nerves should vanish.
