You need to use the acoustic for some time before you like it. It kinda grows on you. Then it envelops your heart in steel tentacles, holding it for eternity...

Perhaps it just doesn't suit your playing style. I bought one Violin J-pen and because I like it so much, I bought also the C-pen version. Actually I tried to buy the Acoustic, too bad Nittaku doesn' make it in penhold version.

Actually the last sentence sounds like a poem, and I think Vassily should sell it to Nittaku so they can use it for sales promotion.

It's no poetry, it's true ! After a year and a half, I'm more and more in love with my paddle. Every time I play, I find new reasons of loving it. I've been playing for 30 years and maybe I tried as much paddle, and this one is unique. Give it time and....you'll see !

You buy the acoustic, and you will never need another blade. You will never look enviously at another blade again. You will go on TT forums to laugh at the unenlightened rather than going to TT forums to search for the next new blade. Not bad value for a NZ$160 blade.

Anyway, you will spend the rest of your days buying random $80 blades, ending up costing you $8000. Buy an acoustic, and save yourself $7840.

LOL

Seriously, peace of mind is the most important thing. Be happy with what you have, and you will play much better.

jcdi are you using Acoustic and 2mm F1 now? Same here lol.

NOW I am really really really curious......

What is so good about Accoustic and Violin?  Almost everybody explain about "it's not love at first sight but if you court it for months then you are married to it" kind of answer.  Gee, I wish it's not that expensive so that I can give it a try.

BTW, what is the difference between Accoustic and Violin in term of Speed, Spin and Control?  Can anybody tell it more exact?

Thanks.

P.S.
In term of this special feeling for all-wood blade, I also see people are fanatic to Korbel and Clipper.  Another thread may be next time.

Acoustic (5,7 mm) is thicker than Violin (5,3 mm). Perhaps this makes it slightly faster (according to Nittaku rating). Too bad they don't make it in C-pen version.

This is true! Thumbs%20Up I think the above "quote" also applies to Violin and Vioncello.

My friend you and I differ greatly in how much we consider a wood blade is worth LOL

Certainly I don't mind it if the wood justifies the price, as is the case with quality hinoki one ply blades. I can't help but think that the violin is just an example of pricing the blade so high that people assume it must be that great. I'm sure it's as nice of an all wood blade as can be made, but not THAT nice. Not 3X a Korbel, Stiga offensive, or Yasaka extra or whatever.

As to the blade growing on you, all blades do that. Play with anything long enough and it will start to feel right and others will start to feel wrong.

Clap Smart and sensible. That said, eventhow I agree there's a huge part of psychology in our addiction, I still feel it's worth paying 3 x Korbel for 1 acoustic since I got rid of my EJing doing so. It's just like seeing a shrink : Therapy doesn't work if you don't pay him huge money ...Wink
