sanwei has a blade made of 9 wood plys and 10 carbon plys thicknes of the blade is 6.3-6.5 mm. Look here for more info www.handestore.com

Everything sanwei I've ever seen was virtually a toy, except I did try a one ply ayous shake that wasn't too bad.

on that same site there is a single play hinoki that they say is only 6.3mm thick that has to be a lie it would break to easy being that thin

The pistol grip Sanwei you sold my teammate seems to be a quality product.    If only he wouldn't throw/kick it as he'll be needing another one soon.  He does like that style of handle and it seems as well or better made than most other Chinese blades I've seen.
