Hi all member,
I just bought a new Sardius blade of Butterfly, it is a carbon blade and I dont know its quality about speed, spin, control features when compare with other blade in the same type.
Have anyone used this blade before? Could you show your experience about it? Could you tell me some blade which is equal to the sardius blade, and which kind of rubber should I play with? My style is offensive with strong FH loop, sometime using BH loop but mostly block and counter attack in BH

just for imformation: i haven't played with sardius, but i already played a bty off+ blade, the kreanga aeros and other for a short period in parctice sessions. they all are rather similar, have a relatively hard feel and are freakin fast. ;)
as sardius is a very hard and fast blade i would combine it with a rather soft oder medium rubber on forehand.
depending on whether you like tension rubbers or not and which throw arc you like, flatter or higher,
try a sriver L max. thickness as non-tension rubber, which basically suits EVERY bty blade and almost every style of play.
or maybe a bryce FX for a softer feeling setup and slightly better loops in comparison to the "straight" strokes like smash and counter.
catapult / cermet would be nice as well for loop-based play on forehand.
on the backhand you should stick to a sriver L, rather not that thick. 1.9-2.1 should suffice completely.
you would have a good counter/block/smash on backhand with the possibility to loop aswell.
with the slightly thinner rubber on the backhand the weight of the whole racket is quite nice and your wrist won't be stressed too much.

goodluck on using that blade, its very fast and stiff.. almost same speed as schlager carbon.. before the SC came out of the market sardius was the king of butterfly blades. it still is one of the most popular blades among high level players (not the pros necessarily)

sardius (7,3) has the same construction of primorac carbon (6.9mm), gergely (7.0mm) and schlager carbon (7.4mm)
due to its thickness, It is faster than PC and gergely and almost like SC. try to use medium soft rubbers, and not too much speed glue. |

Many of my friends are using Sardius and Schlager Carbon. Both are fast blades (Schlager is a bit faster) but they said that Schlager has better control compared to Sardius ( I have Schlager Carbon in C-pen version).

Thanks to all of you, I think I have got much useful information and I will chose the suitable rubber for my blade.
In fact, many my friends using bryce rubberfor FH and Donic Desto F1 hard sponge for BH, is that good combination?

I had used Sadius before change to Shalger carbon and to Acoustic and now Kreanga carbon. The best rubber that recommend for your back hand is Nittaku Moristo or Moristo 2000. Good for block , chop, and loop and even smash. F1 seem abit to fast for BH. Most of vietnamses like Bryce at FH, so just stick with that. But it will very fast and need alot of touch to control your shot. Hey, no offence. I myself is vietnamese too. Good luck

ntc, the issue there is control, desto f1 and bryce hard sponge usually is too fast to put on a sardius blade.. the question is can you control that kidn of set up?

I have known one member who have nickname like yours. To yogi_bear: yeah I just bought this blade and more and more get used to playing with it, I think I can control it. the key is that how we chose the rubber to take full advantage of abilities of this blade, especially for my style (FH loop with friction and heavy spin, BH: block, counter attack, using wrist to flip )

especially if you are aiming at maximum spin on forehand, then bryce is not your rubber for the forehand.
maybe bryce fx but rather cermet or catapult, but bryce is way to hard, so that the contact time between rubber and ball is to short to constantly deliver good quality shots.

the Sardius is not only hard and fast but it has a low throw. I have used it with hard rubbers(H3,729 SP) and soft (Inspirit, Saviga). It works quite well with these rubbers but they are all high throw rubbers. I once used Donic F1 and while it was really quick it was difficult to control.

its fast and furious type blad ..i used it..use hurricane 3 on forhand and for bh sriver el would better..becasue of its big head size bloking will be easier..and gud for down the line finishing shots ..which will stunn opponent..and goes like bullet..

Hi. NTC78. I didn't joint BONGBAN.ORG yet. But i will try next time. I also tried alot of rubbers before and the one i really like for my forehand is Killerspin Forza 4Z. It's very easy to create any type of spin and medium fast speed and made you easily control your shot with topspin, loop and loopdrive at any distance and height. Backhand that i like Joola mambo H or Harmon X. Good blocking rubber with good spin on it.

I've been using one for a few months and it's my favorite. It's very fast. Most would use a medium speed, high spin rubber in combination. I use the 999 elite ultima and it's worked very good.

My Sardius is 15 years old but the wood quality is better than new one.
I had 729 HighPoint on FH and BTY G2 FX on BH. Look a bit soft and I changed recently to Bryce Hard Sponge for faster speed. It is still slower than my Stiga Titanium 5.4 WRB with HighPoint/Bryce HS. Still have good feel, good balance and controllable. I think it is even better than the new one as I tried on a friend's newer Sardius. May be a bit heavy. Will try a lighter rubber like Donic Gallardo Power Sound. Actually ordered another BTY Balsa X5 for lighter weight. ----------------------- |

I use Sardius with Mark V 30 which is the softest rubber available(speed glued). I spin FH and hit BH while trying to develop a BH loop. I just ordered a Boll Tri-Carbon yesterday.
