I'm looking for some good quality TT shoes for under $40US. Has anyone tried either of these:

http://store.alphatabletennis.com/xsfshoes.html

I really don't care if the shoes are specifically designed for TT or not. Could be any good quality court shoe. Do you have any other recommendations?

Check out Table Tennis Pioneers, here is a listing of their shoes, ordered by price:
http://www.ping-pong.com/cgi-bin/shopper.cgi?search=action&searchstart=0&keywords=ttShoe&template=Templates/QueryMenu/ttshoe.html&sortkey=price&sortorder=ascending
They have some shoes on clearance, though maybe not in common sizes.

And if you want to protect your knees, don't forget to buy extra insoles for the heel part.

I use Yonex SHB 99 Ltd Edition for badminton, and they are nice.
They have cheaper version as well.

Those Donic beach sandals from ping-pong.com look rather nice.  Maybe I will start playing in those ;).

The best shoes are the Mizuno ones. I've seen many top players with Mizuno shoes.
