NA cypress is harder than Hinoki, according to BTY. Anyway, you're being deceived by the feel of a limba covered blade. Limba top plies tend to be 1/2, 1/3 or even less the thickness of your usual hinoki ply. |

Heh, the korbel has limba outer plies, my leopard is a 3-ply hinoki...

limba is faster and harder... hinoki seems faster, because its thickness is usually 9mm to 10.5mm...
if you would have a hinoki blade with under 6mm thickness,
like other limba blades... it would be a lot slower...
