Unless he's a flat hitter / smasher I'd say go with something more in the OFF range, really. Loopers need the dwell, imo, and you can get plenty of speed out of most OFF + max rubber combos. Lots of options, maybe brand preference, current blade / rubber combo, style of play, etc. would help us make the best choice.

No looping, just smashing and flipping. What about in the Stiga or Butterfly line?

Have a Schlager Carbon to sell. The retail price is $123. It is a good OFF blade.

Yes, Carbon blades are good for hitters/blockers but not many other styles.

Firehand, Gergely 21, Mazunov (probably more like a clipper than anything else, and only $37), and the Schlager Carbon Light (little pricey though) are probably your best Bfly options. According to the site the Firehand is average @ 89g, the G21 is 3+g lighter then it's predecessor @ 90g, the Mazunov is a brick @ 99g, and the SCL is probably the weapon of choice @ 80g.

For Stiga you obviously have the option of trying to find a light clipper variant. Other options that I have less personal experience / knowledge of include Tube Carbo ($50, on sale @ TTP, 87g), or the Titanium 5.4 (< $75, also on sale @ TTP, 83g with a good chance of a lighter one from the variation I've seen in Stiga blades),  and a few more that I won't mention since i have to be up for work in 6 hours. D'oh. Censored

I have a Rossi Force for sale..

It plays exactly like the timo boll spirit, which I found suitable for hitting, smashing and blocking.. It flips good too..

It's his for 60 usd, no dings nor dents and used for only about 3-4 hours

I went back to wood blades as I am a typical looper..

Let me know if your interested (or he)

It sounds great, but I'm a little concerned about the weight.

Hy Tommy. My lightest one is the one I play with-Hallmark Carbon Extreme.I even  have two of them-68gr and 70gr.It's fast, with med hard feeling and the best  control of my OFF+ blades.(I  have KC, Iolite and a  Tube Carbo) Quite difficult to find one, though.I think that's why the folks don't know it

Hi Tommy, I am using Primo Vitesse--very fast but not light enough for fast hits. Good for smashes. Let him try the Andro OFF I sent you.

Mind you vitesse is more head heavy so hits and smashes are more powerful.
