    Posted: 11/10/2007 at 1:51pm
Hi all. I am using Stiga Radical short pips in red 1.8 in FH and Butterfly Sriver EL black max in BH and I am going to Sweden to compete in february next year and I am needing help.

I am a blocker in FH or an lobber, depends on hhow the shots come to me, and an smasher and all that in BH.

Normally when I get served in FH, I block with the SP and then smash.

But moct of my blocks don't go over the net, so I thought: Do I need to push more or what

With many thanks in advance

thats a big part of the short pip game is doing the weird sidespin pushes and chopblocks. i would practice doing weird stuff with them to mix in with the actualy stratigic game play.

try practicing bh loops with radical, its unusually spinny for a short pip, also pls remember that it gives a low angled return and you might adjust the angle of your blade

Hi Icedef
You just need a long practice session blocking with sp.
Start off with racket face about vertical and close or open according to need. Against heavy spin make sure the racket goes THROUGH the contact point with the angle stable. If the racket is motionless you will be less consistent. Go a few inches through the hitting point each time.
