i have the exact same problem with the one i ordered from rob, don't know how to fasten those ropes

Actually it's a whole piece, a single string.  Its function is to prevent the net from sagging down.  Both ends should go over the top of the post securely and tied down.  Some come with a little metal chain for hooking to the side of the post.

Tie it somewhere, or it should be attached to something that can be hooked down. It keeps tension in the net.
