Hello guys,

First I just want to say that this forum is amazing... I've just spent a couple of hours reading threads...

Anyone who doesn't feel like reading 500 words of description - here is the short explanation. I bought 2xHurricane 3 + Xi EnTing X-Ray PK101. I am a beginner and there is still possibility to change the paddle. I saw nowhere in this forum this combination recommended. I play somewhat offensive (I am not a newbie nor very advanced. Please help :-)

So... to cut the short story long, I used to play some TT 7-8 years ago and recently I revived that hobby. I am definitely not a *good player*(what is good actually? xD) but I destroy my nerd colleagues quite easily :-D ...  As in the last month and a half I started playing a lot again, I decided that it's about time I buy my own paddle. The *magic* of ebay made me select 2x DHS Hurricane3 + Xi EnTing X-Ray PK101. After reading this forum and some googling tonight, I started to realize that I might have done a really big mistake. I can describe my game as... "offensive" (with a lot of mistakes xD) and I do really a lot of fast topspin (my colleagues allow me ;-) ). Reading the characteristics of this custom made paddle made me think this is perfect for me, but I am starting to think I might have been blinded by the "world champions choice" text glare and I have bought something that I could actually not use (I saw nowhere dhs stuff recommended for beginners - I still consider myself as one). The item is still not shipped so I have a chance of returning/changing it...
Thanks a lot in advance! Any help will be highly appreciated.

Butterfly Petr Korbel with Sriver EL both sides.. That seems to be a popular one.. Or the Primorac Off- with sriver/EL

The Hurricane is probably nothing like you're used to..

u can start by telling us wat equipment u used 7 yrs ago.. if the hurricanes are in max thickness i suggest you keep them in ur cabinet first and use other chinese rubbers.. they are heavy also..

try contacting cole ely--> [email protected] he can give u a lot of suggestions for your style of play and he is a good dealer

Hello guys,

thanks a lot for your prompt replies!

I contacted the seller... unfortunately my paddle is already dispatched...
I saw Butterfly Primorac off and Korbel recommended a few times for beginners, including here. The problem is I don't find Primorac off a lot, Primorac 2000 seems to be available almost everywhere. Is it also suitable? If not, I will go with the Korbel...

P.S. 7 years ago I used Tibhar *Something* ;-) ....
@yogi_bear: I am living in Czech Republic - should I still contact Ely?

Well what ive read and from my friends, Sriver-EL should have been your rubber choice.

But for your racket  i recommend any paddle that is OFF because it wont be to fast. if you can handle a little more speed and can spare the extra money, than the Timo Boll Spirit, or Michael Maze are good rackets.
