Im' not sure about the date. But he was the best in the world 30's-40's.

Well, when we get to the higher level, we are used to counter heavy backspin and heavy topspin, but need to get used to slow and short dead ball or little spin ball again if we play street players. You guys are right, don't forget the basic!!!

It's so funny. When you loose a game, you blame your opponents ! You want to play a game then you must be ready to face any style of playing or you'll be a looser all the time. As some one said, you need to force them to follow your style. If you loose a point, blame youself 1st and try more practice :-). I've been seeing many 2K+ players playing whom you call "street players". The 2K+ players can beat street players any time they want.
