My 13 year old recently fell in love with table tennis and Im looking to buy a table for our basement. My budget is $400 and Im not sure what to go with. One guy running a local tournament told me to buy a Stiga between $300 and $400. I didnt really like what I saw at the local stores in my price range however I did find a very nice vintage table from the early 1970s. It looks like new, but Im not sure if vintage the right way to go. I was hoping you guys could offer me some advice on what would be best. I like the vintage table because its rock solid but I know nothing about table tennis surfaces. Please let me know what you guy think.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Pete

First of all, welcome to the forum. That vintage table you mentioned, what brand is it? Can you post the picture of it?
A few things you need to consider before buying this vintage table: - is it foldable? Do you need it be foldable to store away for saving space? - if so, how easy is it to set it up again? - how thick is the table top? - do a ball bouncing test to make sure the bounce is right |
