"Dawei Kama + 2008XP rubbers" is a famous "Premade Buster" combo.
For a price of a pre-made paddle, you get a custom assembled racket. How sweet is that?
I am just interested how many of you guys actually have this combo or tried it. For those who have, could you give us a review please?Smile I can't seems to find any detailed costumer's review about this combo on the internet.

For those who don't know what is the combo I am talking about, it is available in both PPGEAR and Cole's Equipment Site as far as I know.

Goto the TableTennisDB.com review site. They have a couple reviews. http://www.tabletennisdb.com/table-tennis-blade.php?id=dawei-kama

I don't know anyone that has this blade, but I think it's kinda in a class of it's own. It's at an amazing price point so I'd say it's probably well worth what you pay for it. Most people say it's pretty decent. You kinda gotta know what you want to get from it though. It would be great to learn the strokes and develop your game and have fun. So beginners like it, and when as you progress you could easily just put faster rubbers on. However, it also would depend what your goals are. My friend and I were "beginners" last year, but right from the start we were doing 5-6 days a week at 2-3 hours, so if you're looking at table tennis seriously and plan to train hard and fast, there might be better alternatives out there... ask PPGear or Cole for the best advice on Chinese gear, or check the Beginner Blades thread pinned in the Equipment section.

If you're NOT a beginner but are more advanced already check the Most Popular Blades: Safe Buys thread in equipment section.

Xiom Stradivarius - Sriver EL 2.1
Andro Super Core Kinetic OFF+ - Plasma 380 2.0
Stiga Allround Evolution - Palio CJ8000 2.2

I think I got one with short pips and inspirit. It made a weird pinging sound. Didn't like the vibration.

Thank you. Well, I am not a beginner. But I am not the one who will be using this. I am interested because me and my friends are starting a local table tennis club.. Since table tennis is not popular around our area at all, we would like to help more people to join this sport and have some fun :)
So one of the important thing is equipments. I thing people will need a decent racket in order to really learn this sport. I don't want them to buy cheap pre-made rackets with green and purple rubbers that you can only literally "play" ping pong instead of play it as a sport. On the other hand, I don't want people to spend $40-50 for their first rackets. I want to keep it cheap so more people will join without worrying spending lots of money on this "new" activity.
Therefore this "Dawei Kama + 2008XP" cough our interest. It is about $25 including everything. I know for the price, I won't expect much from it. I read some reviews from the sellers, and it seems nice from their websites. But I still want to hear some customers reviews on this combo before I actually recommend this to the newcomers.

May want to give some consideration to the Dawei #2 or the Dawei R series blades with 729 Lighting rubbers 2.0mm on both sides.

I was also in market for low cost table tennis combos to encourage people to play the sport.  I have tried the Kama as well as the #2 and R2 and R4 (all made by Dawei) as well as both the lighting and 2008xp rubbers.

The Dawei #2 is a thinner blade, slower with more control.

The Dawei R series are thicker (similar to kama in thickness) and a little faster with less vibration than the #2. R4 has a slightly softer feel and R2 is harder.

I found the slightly tacky lighting rubber more forgiving and easier to control than the 2008xp

Both blades have good control with 729 Lighting rubbers and are on the lighter side so they would feel more familiar to users moving up from recreational premade rackets or just starting out. I prefer the feel of the R series blades myself but either combos are a safe bet and are in the price range you are looking at.

For a cheap set up, that feels good to use; you could also consider the LKT Instinct with 2mm 729 Lightening.

It's lightweight bat, that we've found useful to give to children at coaching to use; as well as more mature beginners.

No, for the beginners please start with LKT Instinct (no plus!). Instinct Plus is faster and less controllable.

Also check out these deals at Eacheng. They will charge you some S&H and it will take 2-3 weeks but if you are wiling to wait a bit you'd get a bargain overall (especially if you are going to order more than just a couple of rackets).

and

They also have some good deals on other cheap pre-made rackets including ones with pips-out on one side.

I got a premade buster from colestt a couple months ago and I love it.  However, my blade was a Dawei Genote R2.  For a total of 27 dollars including shipping I got the blade and 2 sheets of 2008XP.  The rubbers came super tacky and the ball would literally stick to the bat.  This wore of pretty quick but I didn't notice much of a difference in the spin.  I would say its an awesome first custom set up, and made my game improve a lot in the first month or so of having it.

Also: the setup is a lot faster than any premade I've used.  Its not super fast, probably around off- (thats what the guy from colestt told me) but its definitely an upgrade from cheaper premade bats.

Hello noim, one of the locals just purchased  a premade from Cole. I don't recall the blade however it does have 2008XP on one side & Six Shooter on the other.

the 2008XP surprised the living daylights out of me....
not that Im about to start playing w/ it
BUT it has quite a low throw
with very very good control

in a way I liked it more than Six Shooter

sorry don't recall the blade
for $8. (?) a sheet???
2008XP is perfect for many beginner rackets
imo
I think, for your needs, these rackets (certainly) are a very good fit!

I quit carrying kama a long time ago, in favor of the R series and DW#2, which are much better suited for the type of person who's usually in the market for a $24 combo.

Wavestone St with Illumina 1.9r, defender1.7b

Please let me know if I can be of assistance.
