I've been playing with this blade for about 5 years. I like this blade a lot, and there is nothing wrong with it. But, it's about time to treat myself a new blade besides this baby. Any suggestion for better blade than Michael Maze in term of speed and control? Thanks in advance.
BTW, I am an offensive player and my USA rating is around 1900. |

If you used to with Michael Maze, then you must love the soft feeling of Nittaku Violin or Acoustic. Xiom Stradivarius or Andro Kinetic Carbo-Aramid could be good as well. I have gotten rid of my Michael Maze after getting those blades. |

I somehow agree with you about acoustic, it's mid-soft (mid solid as well, actually it's mid-everything except plain happiness). But, excuse me, Violin felt to me everything but soft feeling. It's a very rigid all +/off - blocker/counter blade. Unless you put some extra/max soft mushy rubbers on it, you'll be far from what he had before (M.Maze, fast arylate/carbon/limba). Acoustic is good choice comming from Maze if you are looking for a good woodie feel. Speed is comparable and Limba outer plies will look familiar to you. I heard (didn't try it myself) that Jun Mizutani is an upgraded version of Maze. Maybe somebody can confirm this.

I would definitively go with the Butterfly Jun Mizutani, if you don't want a blade that's too different from the Maze..

Well I have Violin, Acoustic, Mizutani and Maze. Mizutani is harder than Maze, has more woody feel, and faster. Violin is harder than Acoustic. If you choose Violin then you must buy softer rubber like Sriver FX, but if you choose Acoustic then you must use harder rubber either Sriver El or Sriver L. Acoustic has more crips feel while Violin has more mild/solid feel. Violin has more woody feel, harder, speed abit slower.
In my opinion, I like Acoustic/violin better than Mizutani/Maze. It's because of the feedback matter. If my stroke is not properly done or my stoke is properly done I can feel the difference with Acoustic/Violin. While if I play with Mizutani/Maze I can't tell the difference because of less vibration. Violin or Acoustic is better than Mizutani, why don't you try one of them? Violin is for soft rubbers to Mid soft rubber Acoustic is for mid soft rubber to hard rubber |

I would say that after 5 years playing with the same blade it will be very difficult to find a better replacement. You probably may have a gain in speed, but control..........? I doubt...Or just control, but then you may lack your previuos speed...Why not just changing the rubbers?

If I understood you correctly, you would like to try new blades. If you have the resources, then try Nittaku acoustic, Violin; Butterfly MJ, Photino and Amultart.
If you don't like them, you can sell them here anyway. |

Talk to Cole and try the Galaxy T8. It's fast and very high quality. I don't think you'll have control issue with it. Just 30US

T7 would be closer to Maze I think - in any case Cole doesn't have T-8 right now, his website says "out of stock". If the idea is to get something faster but with comparable control and flex, then you could with T-4... or perhaps even W-1 (more expensive, though) |

Currently, on the FH, I use different rubbers (2.0/2.1mm) such as Sriver G2 FX, Torpedo, HamondPro, Bryce, (still searching for a right rubber). On the BH is Solcion 2.1, and I like this on the BH. |
