I have just started playing with a W6........very nice.   I can't believe how well it loops.   Does the Yasaka blade it is a supposed clone of....loop better or feel better?

What other blades are as good at looping like this W6?

Some of the softer Carbon-Aramid (Arylate) blades are pretty decent at that - I like my 729 (Friendship) V-6, for instance. Cole Ely would be able to answer your question better since he tested a shipload of the Dawei and Galaxy blades.

At a certain point it just becomes a matter of taste. There's only so much you can do with a 5ply wood blade. Personally, I've never found anything I like any better than w6. You can find blades faster or slower, harder or softer, depending on your taste. But I don't think you can get any "better" per se. YE, avalox 550, stiga off, korbel... all are classic wood blades that are equal in quality but have slightly different tweaks. I'm just particularly fond of the tone of w6.

Please let me know if I can be of assistance.

Stiga OC, and the Avalox 500's are supposed to be good looping blades.  The OC is thin so it can flex more when looping.  From what I've heard the Avalox 500's are supposed to be springy.

By the way, there is more info on W-6 on the forum. Search for 'W-6". Unfortunately you cannot search for "W6" as our search tool only allows at least three-letter words

JimT,  yea, thats why I got a W6, because of some of the comments on a few threads.

I just hope I can find something close to it...just much much lighter.  I have it set up with 2.2 729 Trascend and 2.2 Hero Gold (cream on jap sp).

These are my first chinese rubbers that are not either any Gambler, Geo Spin, FX Super Soft, Sky King type light chinese rubbers.   The weight difference is amazing.   My W6 (FL) weighs in at 186gm.   My hand aches after an hour or two.   Im used to a 158-168gm setup.

I'm going to try some Gambler 2.2 rubbers or some other lighter rubbers and see how the blade performs then, and also see how much lighter the overall will be.  Im Hoping to get down to atleast the low 170's.

You'll need some rubbers that weigh about 40 g when cut... LKT Pro XP perhaps? they are really light... but then they might be not what you want on your blade... Sriver FX 1.9 or Mark V 30 1.9 would be pretty light

My W-6 is less than 170 with two LKT XTs (blade is 85g).

I love the black glued, works very nicely on the blade, but the red not quite so. Maybe because the red rubber is stiffer a bit and does not grab the ball enough (less tack as well). Still looking for a good red on the W6.

If you put an XT or another very light rubber on the blade, you may gain as much as 10g per side (I gained 10g XT red vs the red 729-2 Sensor).
