I have been using my Skyline 3 for a few months and I've recently noticed that every time i clean the rubber, it gets scratched a lot by the sponge i am using to clean it even though it's a very soft sponge. I always make sure that the sponge I use is damp enough so is this normal and are there alternatives to cleaning rubbers?

water and wiping it off with the palm of your hand should stop the scratches from happening, but you cant help the topsheet from changing colour or getting damaged after a few months of play

It might be not scratches but simply the water / foam residue. Try taking a soft paper towel, soaking it in water and then wiping the rubber carefully but thoroughly.

If they are really scratches, it could be the dirt on the sponge or the dirt on the rubber itself causing this. Perhaps try a) cleaning the sponge you use or b) try making the surface of the rubber more wet. BTW what do you use to clean your rubber?
