Dragon Kid I assumed that tenergy, xiom bios,Pryde,Roxon etc all belong to same category of built in speed glue effect rubbers,but you say tenergy and xiom 111 bios is different please explain. |

Oh I see what you mean now, yes, I do agree that these tensors are too bouncy for a truely passive blcok, they tend to eat up your opponent's spin then shoot off the table by about 3 metres.
That was the original reason I gave up on them, but nowadays I've adjusted my game to suit the rubbers, and have also used anti on the BH to force people to play into my game.
I truely believe that tensors have lessened the gap between unglued and glued up rubbers. That is why I think it's worthwhile giving them a fair go to see if they can work for you...because in the end, that's what everyone wants right? Faster, spinnier, and more control (reference to the japanese tenergy ad here :P)

@Skyline..
Brian Pace must not read the Butterfly catalog.. It's a tensor, but doesn't have in built glue effect, they actually tell everybody to use it with the PO, before that gets banned too.. Not a single line i can find on their website that said Tenergy has in built speed glue effect. @Geko If you play anti BH, the you play more of a hitter game, with more points ended with flat hits. Less looping? |

dragon kit - A friend of mine contacted Butterfly concerning tuners for Tenergy and they told him not to use any, it wasn't made for Speed Glue to tuners, it will hurt the rubber. See the exerpt from Butterfly's site, talking about Tenergy.
This is the first rubber to feature Butterflys new Spring Sponge. Spring Sponge feels hard yet its new technology allows it to hold the ball on the racket longer. Tenergy 05 combines this new explosive sponge with a new tensioned top-sheet with maximum surface grip. The result is a rubber that produces massive amounts of spin on serves and topspin drives. Tenergy is also the fastest most explosive rubber in our line all without the use of any speed-glues or tuning. Tenergy will keep its speed throughout the life of the rubber without need for any special treatments. Finally a rubber that will make you feel like you are playing in the days of the 38 mm ball again! |

Gave up listing, too many changes.

Metalone,
I see my mistake about the tuners.. Now that i think of it, in the article that i read, the tuners should be use with Bryce Speed and the High Tune Series, not the TENERGY. My bad.. Thanks for correcting my mistake.. I am still waiting for DHS to come up with something after the Olympics, if they don't come out with new stuff, i will go for Tenergy. |

They already come out with newer sponge for the H3 commercial. Also for the Provincial version. Which would mean the National version as well.

I just had a brief hit with tenergy and roxon. My conclusion, tenergy has a higher throw and rewards someone who can make solid contact on the sweet spot. Roxon rewards fast racquet head speed, ie Chinese style loops. This might explain the current Chinese trend towards 'light tack' rubbers as opposed to the ultra-sticky days of the 80s.

Yes i have seen them at ttrubberman's blog. the new sponge seem more porous, which probably means it was made for use with their tuners. which now is illegal too.. the #19 sponge sold for about $ 25 here. I have seen it and from what i see, i think it's softer but still need to be speed glued/tuned to get the best performance.. i have to say it seems more spiny then the #20 sponge (both speed glued) , perhaps because it's softer.. |

I'm able to use the Chinese loop-drive, where you add spin if you turn your wrist at the absolute last second. If I add spin, the ball is as spinny as I loop with the Higher Transcend, and if I don't add spin, ie, more a hitting contact, the no-spin effect is much more noticeable than with Chinese rubbers...ie, you give just enough spin to get it over the net, so your opponent blocks it into the net.
I meant that I'll be getting that as an update soon, sorry for the confusion. Although iruiru already has O3 bios for sale. Also it seems like Geoff will have it as soon as his Xiom order comes in. |
