So I have done more EJing this past month and a half than ever and I will tell you, I don't know how some guys like TZ do it. Exhausting is one word...and expensive...I lose money on every deal...maybe I am doing it wrong.
Anyway, my new setup is my old setup Xiom Absolute Carbon (aramid carbon) ALL+ and I have some new stuff on the way: Andro Roxon 450 2.3 Black and Red on the way; (I am going to cut these big so if I don't like them, then I can sell here) Got a new sheet of Geospin Tacky 2.2 Black today; A new five ply Banda ST model is on the way; A backup Xiom ALL+ Control 3 is on the way; I gave a modified Wavestone to a buddy, w/ Gambler and Friendship 802.40; That only leaves me with a Primorac ST handle that is from 1994; Now I am going to be down to two main blades, and two to try out and sell. I want to just have the equipment I am using and nothing else.... So I can end the EJ madness....maybe then I will use the proceeds to get just ONE more Xiom ALL+ and then call it a day .... it IS a disease. |

I have on the way in the mail somewhere, Galaxy T-11, M-6. Joola Panther, Joola $heik/Sheik and maybe a Joola Cat by the end of the day :p (plus 4 meters of balsa). I'm having to stay awake 24/7 doing jobs to pay for them all :)

At the end of the day, all the EJ madness would stand a worth when you finally find the equipment that suits the style you play----> thats when you win in tournaments!!!!

Trouble is I used to win touraments BEFORE I changed stuff, not so much at the moment :D, But I'm sure there is a 10% improvement to be found in equipment somewhere and if I can gain 10% I'll never lose a game again locally so it's worth the try :)

I played ok tonight, got some wicked loop winners right off serve from number 3 guy in the club, had some inspired moments but I am just not practicing enough to make all the EJing worth it. After this round, I am going to stick with what I have for at least another 6 months... (when I stopped EJing with my old bat, which is my new bat again -- confused?) I just want my bag to be lighter, There is an old saying that _I_ apparently need to learn: if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
On ANOTHER note entirely (well it has to do with getting rid of stuff) I gave another cheapo grande bat to a visiting kid tonight. His grandpa is rated over 2000 and plays pips but twiddles (smoked everyone at the club when he comes each year) anyway the grandpa said, "when we get back if you want to play in the basment, you'll have be able to hit the ball on the paddle 100 times first" He started immediately practicing (the kid is 7) and nonstop for about an hour or more....and then towards the end of practice we hear, "he did it!!!" so I gave him the bat to take home, let grandpa put some old junk rubber on it. Next year I hope he comes back and plays TT really well. |

noooo not really, the standard of table tennis in Australia isn't very high outside the major cities and I don't live near a major city, so I only play in smaller comps, I'm usually the highest ranked player in my little area but it's hard to get any better once you reach the top of the local players so I've stayed the same my whole life

That's a nice story :). When I'm ready to give up on my old blades, I allways give them to most inspired kid in the club. None of them have followed through with the game long term yet but I keep trying :)
