Hello everybody!

In my quest for coping for the speedglue ban, I have tried quite a few blades and tensor rubbers and I would like to share my opinion with you. Before I start, I am quite offensive with my forehand -first ball with loads of topspin, second ball, finish with fast topspin or terminal hit-, with a weaker, more passive backhand, although I am working on improving it.

The best results I got to reproduce someting close to speedglue were by combining

-a stiff, offensive carbon blade (like the Donic Black Devil) with

-very soft tensors, in particular the Donic F3 Bigslam or Tibhar Nimbus Sound.

This combo is in my opinion quite close an off- blade with speedglued non-tensor soft rubbers like Joola Samba or Butterfly Sriver FX.

Here is my question: While this combo is great for my forehand, I find the carbon blade too stiff and fast for my backhand. I would thus like to find an alternative based either on:

Option 1) a softer/slower blade (1-ply Hinoki?) with a faster but not too hard (relative to F3BS or Nimbus Sound) tensor for the forehand. I must say, though, that I already have tried and not been convinced by:

- Joola Energy Green Power (too hard, lacks speedglue feeling in my opinion)
- Donic Coppa JO Silver (less hard, more speed glue effect, but combined with a softer blade like the Dr Neubauer High Technology, I find it still FAR from the carbon/F3BS combo)
- Although I haven't tried them, the new generation of tensor rubbers (JO Platin, Sinus, Roxon) seems even harder, and many people on forums were disappointed by the weak speedglue feeling.

I have heard good things about the Donic Sonex JP Gold. Do you think it could do the job on ? Does it have a prominent speed glue effect?

or:

Option 2) same soft rubbers but a combo blade with a sufficiently large difference between the two sides. However, my knowledge, this is very hard to find... As soon as one side is fast/stiff, the other one gets "contaminated"... Does anyone have one combo blade to recommend ?

Thank you for reading this long post !

Juic Kiso-Hinoki Shake (you better find one below 85g)
Energy X-tra red 2.0mm (forehand)
Bryce Speed FX black 2.1mm (backhand)

I believe you'd be happy with this one...
Phenom st/BW3/Ω3Euro ● Photino st/Ω4Pro/R7S ● Speed 90 fl/Vega Euro/S3
