Many players consider a 5-ply hinoki the best blade for short game spins and looping.

What is the BEST 5-ply Hinoki and WHY?

I can't afford (g/f will kill me) to buy a dozen of them to find a good one.

Darker seems to only make a 7-ply and a 5-ply with "power wood."
Butterfly . . . which one is their best?

bty hinoki shake speedy is very nice,

similar to a petr korbel with a little more speed and softer, the handle sucks, so very small, I use it with a grip

that's the only one I know

Butterfly: Jonyer Hinoki, Kiso Hinoki V, Hinoki Shake 5 (chinese made).
I tried Jonyer 5 ply, thus i skip the other two 5 plies, I want to try the 7 ply (probably the Kiso Hinoki VII).

Jonyer is a good blade. Nice feel, gears, great looper.

I found the 5 ply and 7 ply made from Avallo is very nice too. Both made from Hinoki wood. Chech this website: http://www.avalloavx.com/blade.htm
Look for J-power and J-Tech. Still tempting for J-Tech

find a heavy bty jonyer, it's very good, i played with 70gr, 72gr, and 78gr, and the 78gr is the best

you should hurry not that many jonyer's around, i dont think they make them anymore, the only place where i saw them available was megaspin

i also ordered a 5p-2a from iru that should of arrived but because of stock problems on another item i have not received it yet, but the darker is probably faster, a lot

The H.S. Cryzer is a pretty good blade too, soft and not too fast. Relatively cheap as well (like the rest).

EDIT: In case someone wonders, this blade can still be found in some places, like eacheng...

Manyaku, how much different between 70g and 78g? Does it worth getting a second one? Mine is 70g. If it's better but not worth getting another one then i wouldnt bother looking for another one... Cause it's not easy to find one anymore. Thanks.

the 78gr is easyer to smash with and drive through the ball, (because it was also thicker, wich made it not to feel so mushy), no vibrations, more stable, and a bit faster

you should only get another one if you need it to be more stable and not so elastic when you drive through the ball

Ive have played Jonyer Hinoki during many years, and it has been my favourite blade.  Its outstanding in term of feeling and control, but I reckon it will maybe be a little slow with the current glue ban. Now Im going to try a Violin, but I swear you if I the new rule wouldnt appear I would surely continue with my racket.

I own 3 Jonyers, but all diferent, I also agreed that the best one is the first one I purchased and also the oldest and heavier(80 grs). It hasnt the butterfly metallic seal either JTTA.

Regards.

A 5 ply hinoki is one blade I'd like to try.  I'm seriously thinking about picking up a AVX J-Tech.....good deal here.
