I'm guestimating about a couple of grams.  Anyone actually weighed one and have a more precise number?

It depends how thick they are. I weighed with and without once and the difference only showed 1g, so since this is the resolution of the scale, it was probably 1-2g.

First I thought that. But I then understand he needs to know the accurate weight of the rubber itself.

When I am making inputs to Silvalis' Tabletennis Rubber Mass Database (http://mass.doingitwrong.net/), I would like to be as accurate as possible, but I don't like to take the plastic off until after I have cut a rubber.  That's why I care.

I'm with you. Cut then peel.
How do you add to the database? Please provide an example. Thx.

I've taken off 1g for my entries... I don't think this will be far off, and the variation between rubber to rubber is likely to be more than this, so it's not worth worrying about IMO...

The easiest way is to go post the info at haggisv's forum.  It's a sticky topic there.

OK. I guess no need to do any calculation. Just weight & dimension.

1g is pretty close from my own findings on about 20 rubbers.

Thanks guys.  Sounds like about 1g.  I guess the next time I cut a rubber, I'll try to weigh the pieces of the plastic sheet...Wink

Just FYI...I did weigh the plastic cover sheet on a couple of different rubbers I recently put on my blades.  The sheet off of a Gambler Aces rubber weighed 1.5g.  The sheet off of a IQUL rubber weighed 3g.  So it appears there is some variation.

And Jap and European manufacturers don't put plastic sheets on the rubbers anyway, so no worries their about the weight.
