is the lighter blades better for RPB..?
does thinner rubbers make a better options for RPB too...?

It depends on your style of play. If you are strong in forehand side and use RPB only to open topspins, than a thinner rubber might be welcome in the backhand side to make the combo lighter.
But if you are strong with RPB, like Wang Hao, and use it to kill, I believe a 2.1mm + rubber is the call.

well... too bad we won't know what Wang Hao or Ma Lin really use.

They both use heavy, heavy bats. As professional table tennis athletes (athletic equivalent to average gym rat in most of the world) they can handle the 90g blades, 50g rubbers and layers upon layers of glue. Otherwise they would be outgunned by shakehanders.
